I took my Noah car cover to the laundry mat. After it was washed I stuck it into a commercial dryer and selected low heat. I came back an hour later and it was still very wet so I turned the heat up to medium and left.
When I came back to pick up the cover it was trash. It had melted badly and was torn. A new one is on order.
Lesson l learned. Only dry at low temperature or better yet take the car cover home and hang out on wash line to dry.

Norm...
Wish I could have warned you, same thing hapened to me at home, and did it make a terrible mess of the inside of the dryer ! Took me a few hours to scrape all the melted fabric off the inside of the dryer. I'll never try that again !

That's funny. I don't think the laundry mat owner was real happy with me either.

I have taken several to the laundry mat to wash, I take them home and air dry.

I paid $20 or $25 to have it done but that was at a regular professional cleaner. Might do better at one of those places that does bulk drycleaning.

I take mine to the laundamat once every 6 months. Then bring it home and air dry it. The manuf said never use laundry detergent because it'll leave flakes. They advise to use Fantastic which cleans it just fine. ;bt Costs me 4 bucks.

So, how much Fantastic should I put into the washer? TIA,

Hmmm, there's nothing on mine to melt. Wheelz (aka Mike Wicks) gave me his old C5 cover when he sold his Vette. Fits the C6 just as well and I've washed and dried it without problems (so did he).

Frank, you use 1/2 cup or 4 oz. I'm on my 3rd cover. The first one was eaten by Jeff Hey's squirrels. Mid american gave me a new when when I complained that it looked like rats had been chewing on it.;yn That one ,I later after a couple of years, melted in a dryer. The one I have now is a Wolf from my C5 & fits the C6 perfectly. :D

Depends on what kind of Cover, The foam type covers need to be dry cleaned, the canvas or cotton type can be washed. two of mine are felt/foam and must be cleaned.
