Vette question..... would GM consider bringing back the Big Block, or a new high tech motor (similar to the Zr1) to compete with the Viper?

Also.... an off topic question. When you buy any parts for a 350 motor, water pumps, head gaskets, etc. Sometimes the parts will specifically say 70'-85' what was the change in the 350 engine from 1985-1986? i have an 86' and i run into this problem all the time. But.... the parts still fit my car. i baught head gaskets for what was suposed to be 70-85 350's, and they fit, and work great.

I think you may see a "big block" in the future, but not another engine like the ZR-1. The cost to certify (EPA) an engine is not cheap. If a big block does show up it will be a cross over motor to be used in other trucks/ cars. It would be nice to see a stinger hood with 4-- badges on it!!!!! :D :cool:

Often times the break in years for parts is driven either by a.)changes to emissions requirements or b.)design changes by the manufacturer. Even with design changes, the break in years does not apply to all parts as you have learned.

yeah i did notice that there was a change in the emisions in 86.
