And my new baby was delivered

...and it has been happiness ever since. It was close to a balmy 50 degrees earlier this week & I decided to take it out of storage for a quick run...definitely put the smile back on my face!

And a big thanks to Mark (Carboman) for quickly helping me out & offering for me to stop on over. He fabricated some wood extension ramps that allowed me to get the car onto my lift (since it wouldn't clear the lift without scraping the front end). So, thanks for helping me get it from here:

My first year in the club has been a lot of fun...and I'm looking forward to year 2 & beyond.

A Safe, Prosperous & Happy New Years to all

Happy New Year

Yes, there was actually 2 of them up there. They picked them up somewhere in Albama...after getting my Z16. They were stuck out in a field and the driver said they had to call a tow truck to drag them out since he couldn't get the rig anywhere near them.

He also said he called the purchaser to be sure he wanted them to actually take the cars since they were basically shells....no engine or tranny in either one (probably not the typical condition they're used to hauling around) and in such bad shape. But, as you probably know, once restored...they could be worth their weight in gold.

Maybe Glenn & Mark will see them at Barrett-Jackson :D

Your car is one of favorite Vettes of all time. Glad to be of help with the ramps. I look forward to seeing you on the road once spring arrives. Let me know if I can ever be of service again. How about a granite floor for your garage? Check us out at www.monticellogranite.com

Look for Glenn and me at Barrett Jackson. We'll be wearing some special Barrett Jackson edition Liquid Assets Lounge shirts. They are white with black sleeves and they say "THANKS DEB" in big letters on the back.

Best regards
Mark

Mark,

Hmmm....the garage floor does need work:D...I have had my eye on some nice Racedeck flooring...although, I think the wife will want granite in the kitchen before anything else happens in the garage.

Enjoy Barrett-Jackson...it should be a blast...always wanted to go...I'll be looking out for those special edition shirts on TV...just don't get into any bidding wars with that Ferrari cap guy.

Tom,

The Ferrari cap guy has a restoration shop around the corner from my office. I see all kinds of neat cars driving back and forth past my office window.

Let me know if you want granite for your kitchen. I can make it painless and reasonable as well.

Best regards
Mark

I traded a hot '72 (worked) 340 'Cuda in on the '76 Vette. Wonder what it would be worth today? It was pristine & had fairly low mileage!
Meanwhile, there's a one of a kind 1963 Corvette concept car, a "Rondine" with a 360 HP - 327 & 4 speed that's supposed to go up for auction at BJ and it's said to be the first time it's ever been offered for sale! It's kinda funky looking but it should be interesting to see what that brings.
ENJOY,
Joel
