Looking at a 62 Maroon Convertible, BUT I know nothing on how to validate it or should I say authenticate it. Are there companies out there or knowledgeable people who will look at this car for me and say - OK, it's right!!. I'm in Phila. and the car is for sale in New York. Thanks so much for your help in buying my new toy.

Buy an NCRS judging guide for the car and use it to review the car.

FJB: Don's listing is quite comprehensive if you go it yourself, but if you need someone to accompany you or to make a separate evaluation, there are experts out there who - for a price - will thoroughly examine the vehicle and give you a precise determination of the value, condition, etc. If you are interested, let us know.
If you check it out, and don't catch something it needs like frame work, it could easily cost you $5, to $10,000. plus!! Remember: Buyer Beware!!

I would highly recommend Dick Robinson of Robinson Restorations in Huntingdon Valley. He is a nationaly known expert on early corvettes.

If he will go to NY.

I thank you all so very much !!! The 62 is gorgeous on paper. But as everyone says "You can't be too careful" Everyone selling says numbers match. And for $70,000.00, I'm scared to death and I want to be sure.
Let alone having to spread the fertilizer with my better half to buy it.
They can say anything from New York when I'm in NE Philadelphia

Dick Robinson is certainly THE best and most knowledgeable local authority on 1956 probably up through 1962. He's semi-retired from his shop in HV. He's presently the Chairman of the Del-Val. NCRS chapter. If you'd like to get in touch with him, let us know - especially if you're talking those kind of dollars you DEFINITELY want an EXPERT opinion & Dick is THE ONE!! Spending a few hundred could save you several thousand!
