I recently purchased a 1995 coupe , six speed, and I have noticed that the speedometer backlight and the Air conditioner temperature readout backlight, pulse . The light gets dimmer and brighter at about 1 cycle per second. Both displays do this in unison. It happens with or without the radio on

I know its not a big deal but I was wondering if its connected to some power regulator or something that might be going. Please advise

This sounds like a bad ground. I don't know about this car but I'd bet there is a retaining clip which holds the speedo to the cluster. Unfortunately, the ground is likely obtained through that clip and has worn a bit loose. If this is the case, the Vette isn't the only car to do this (get a ground this way).

You could replace the clip or a more permanent solution would be to add a ground wire yourself.

Addional notes regarding problem

[] When engine off the backlights do not pulse
[] When engine on lights pulse in conjunction with voltage guage moving slightly up and down.

This leads me to consider some sort of regulator problem

What do you think

Per the C4 tech section on the Corvette Forum check the regulator (by disconnecting the alternator to see if that stops the pulsing) and battery connections.
