The 1999-2000 hardtop, started out as the poor man's Vette, and developed into the C5 Z06, which is far from the poor man's Vette. The car is very much in demand now, more so than it was when it first came out. The styling of this Vette, puts it in the class of the C2 generation Stingray, and like its predecessor the 1963 C2 Z06, it will age like a fine bottle of wine. Especially, to Corvette enthusiasts and collectors. Its unique fixed hardtop with a trunk, is the first in Corvette history, and the first time that Corvette produced three models, Coupe, Vert and Hardtop. These Zs today will become a classic within its own era, following the footsteps of the first Z06 series which started in 1963. With only 28,000 that were produced, and considering what is left now as pure stock vehicles, and believe me the numbers are getting less each day with people modding and customizing, ensures that this car with low mileage and pristine condition, will be a good investment today and in the future.

Not sure about a good investment, maybe if it came with a little red horse on it, they just build too many today to make them go up in value. JMO

Agreed. They just build too many. But look on the bright side, Henry Ford built tons of Model-A's & T's too and they're worth something now. ;)

The real question can only be answered by each owner... How long can you wait for your payoff?

These Z-06s will never follow in the footsteps of the 63 Z-06. The only thing the have in common is their name. There are just too many being made. If you put it away in a climate controlled environment, maybe your grandchildren will benefit from them,

hee hee

but u know that when the C5 is as old as a Model T, that HEI ignition will still try to crank it and it'll be worth more than that T today.
hmmm... I wonder what a Vette would look like with a hand crank in front ;ae ;bl;bl

MY grandchildren love old vettes more than the new ones.
Relaxing in the pool to much. Foresight. Thats what makes the corvette community EXCITING and alive. IT'S for the YOUNG and OLD. People wanting the past and willing to pay for it. BIG BUSINESS and thats a FACT.
