I haven't used Zaino before, I've read about it and many folks on my old GTO forum swear by it.
So, first I'll get my inventory (pro detailing pack)... but I'm used to the Meguiar's products I just buy from Wally World. With that product line, the paint sealant is before wax - seemingly opposite Zaino's steps where the CS product is applied last.
Bottom line... when I pick up my new car, I want to get a jump and provide the best possible protection right away. This car will be a daily driver, btw.
For my very first application when I pick up my car, should I do all the steps the Zaino site documents? (or maybe without the clay bar... new vehicle "shouldn't" need that?).
I'll have all the products in that Pro detail Pack so, what do you guys say?
;nd
Thanks

You may wish to have the invisible film installed on your car to protect from stone chips, I believe it's made by 3M. There's a guy in the club that does it 'Vince' he goes by the nickname Plain Insane if you wish to email him go to the members list and look him up.

Don't order any Zaino... I carry it if you need it. I'll also get you started if you need help. As for claying..... new cars sometimes do need it . Your car sits outside, on a rail car then a truck. I'll look (feel) your car's finish and I'll let you know if it needs clay or not when you get it. Bill

Thanks, Bill. If you can put together a kit for me (like the Pro kit), I'll pick it up from you at the picnic in August.
My pre-delivery shopping list is growing:
wheel locks
head liner (from Down South Vettes)
Zaino
3m film
Zaino
Zaino
oh... did I mention Zaino? :D

Corvettes NEVER sit on rail cars at BG or anywhere along the way. They are not subjected to that abuse, although christians car will take a truck trip of nothing less than 865 miles, most likely a little more and could very well use some claying...
Christian, Bill will certainly help you out with all you need as far as Zaino is concerned.
AND, last but certainly not least, tell your Reedman-Toll salesman NOT to wax the car..... They will treat it like just any other car and will not do a good job, as a matter of fact, will most likely do more harm than good.. They also would use some crappy wax that you will end up removing so you can apply your Zaino.
ALL WAX COMES OFF before starting to use Zaino.

Reedman's mess with my car? Nah they would never do that
I think I'll take the delivery day off just so I can unwrap the car myself.
Don't know if they'll have some pre-delivery vehicle check to go through but if they know I'm there then they will hand it over asap and w/o detailing it if I ask. While I'm no fan of applying Dawn  to wash a car, I guess I'll trust the de-structions and just do it exactly as they say.
I've never clay-barred a car, I can't imagine it's that tough to do... if you guys have tips so that I avoid Zaino 'newbie' mistakes (other than what is already on the Zainostore site), that would be appreciated.

Also, make sure they don't put that REEDMAN-TOLL decal on the back. Tell them over & over because they're ugly.;yn

If you have any Zaino questions you can always call me 215-938-0991, happy to answer them. My last Reedman car was washed and detailer EVEN though I told them not to, and grew up with the Reedman family, it made no difference, they are just too big for anyone there to know what is really going on, oh yea they even but a Reedman sticker on the back. :(

Unless you are there when the car comes off the truck and it doesn't leave your sight it will be tough to keep them from touching it. Make sure there's something on the buyers order that states your wish not to have the car detailed. All they need to do is mechanical prep and state inspection.

I had all that in writing, they did not listen. Just made extra work, at least they did not take a buffer to it. :(

Actually, I suspect this may be my experience too.
I'll simply make the request a few times... if they detail it... so be it, I'm not very concerned... it'll give me a little time (days) just in case life throws me a curve ball that week (speaking of curve balls... my wife (Mary) just found out on Saturday that her dad died. This is actually a good thing, his long suffering is over).

Sorry to hear of your families loss. :(
