View Full Version : Paint Question
My '02 Z06 has been my daily driver since new.Winter salt & stones
have taken a toll on the edges of the fenders. The torch red is completely gone in spots with only a black finish left.Touch up paint doesn't stick to this surface. What kind of primer/base coat can I use
before the touch up paint? The local body shops want to remove & paint
the entire fenders.I'm not up for this much $.

Richy, That's probably the only way to go with that being the case.
Let Carboman and Glenn take a look though. Maybe there is
something they could do at least on a temporary basis.
Good Luck with it. Todd
PS, See what happens when you don't wash your car? ;bl ;bl ;bl
Let them paint it, if that much touchup is required it will look worse trying to do that. Be happy to look at it next week if you want to stop by. :)

Richy, why don't you have the lips blown in around the wheelwells and then apply the 3M protective edge guards. If you get them done, I will apply it to your vette. I can do some freestyle on them. If you need some bodyshops that I deal with, just let me know.

I AGREE!!!
Richy, Go for the paint. You'll be happier in the long run.
CRACK that wallet open and let some SUNSHINE in.
You can't take it with you!

Last year when I detailed Richy's car the paint was completely gone on the back portion of the fenders. Looking at them I think that the only way to repair the paint is to either try and blend the paint on the fenders or just repaint them. Richy you could always check with Dennis to see what $$$$'s he'd charge.
