Two times yesterday, when I got to the top of the track I had forgotten what had happened at the bottom, both times costing me the win.
In SLP race I spun like byatch. I was in the 1.66 range in in 60' and spun to the tune of 1.78 I think. In a close race at the top end, as I treed my opponent, I made the STUPID mistake of getting of the throttle and a tapping the brake after catching him, giving him the stripe by .02. STUPID STUPID STUPID.
In the Challenge I did not get off the line well and I knew I was not going to run my number. By the 60' mark I made a mental note, "EDGAR, DON'T HIT THE BRAKES YOU WILL NEVER RUN THE NUMBER!. By the time I got to the 1000', I had caught him and I eased on the throttle, no brake, giving up maybe .01 on the let up. Well we cross the stripe and I FREAKIN' gave it up again, this time by .0012.
Lesson here is
I better not find a way to remember what happens at the bottom so I don't screw up the top!!!!!!!
