Lets just say it was a great day for the CCDV racers. Edgar was the runner-up in the Challenge and Ellis was the King of the Hill in the SLP class run-off. Congrats to both you guys. Mike C's new clutch worked good enough to get him a perfect light and Lee's car was running 12.3's. Congrats to both you guys. Joe S was running very consistant and found himself going against Ellis not once but twice in the SLP racing classes. Congrats to Joe. Mike W. got into the second round of the Challenge but went red. I got into the second round of both the Challenge and SLP races but went red in one and fell asleep at the lights in the Challenge to lose. A great day for racing!

Yeah I get my second runner-up in a row and am still in 4th place.

Edgar, NEVER! Ralph's car is just so consistant that it makes him almost invincible. You just have to beat him on the tree, which you were really pushing yesterday. You had some great lights! Plus you had to chase him down, tough job in anyones book. Plus you took the closest to dial in in first round!
Kudo's to you!;bc

What an EXCELLENT day!

Edgar... Big time congrats on ANOTHER finals appearence!

You are clearly on "another" level. Completely heads & shoulders above the masses that race. Way to go bro!

Your skills & consistantcy are to be admired!

Mike C... Didn't know you cut a perfect .000 light!
Way to go! That is awesome!

One of these days we WILL see a CCDV final round I'm sure of it!

Tony & Rose... Thanks for hauling up the tires & jack! AGAIN!!!

Sorry I missed this one.

Congrats to everyone especially El and Edgar, and way to go Joe!

Mike a .500 -- hope Nancy was there to see it.

God I hope I make the next one, because I will be out of town for the Nov 1 race.

Another great day for CCDV.

Al, we all missed you yesterday. I can't think of a day when I needed your advice more. The car was running surprisingly consistant even though it is still running rough. I really needed help running my dials. Congrats to Edgar for his great finish in the Challenge.

Special congrats to Ellis, who had to beat me TWICE in a row to progress to SLP King of the Hill! We both red lighted on the first run but since I have the slower car, only my red light counted. Then they announced that all finalists and semi-finalists from each class were competing for the title. I got a second shot at El, but he's just too good. He both had good starts but El ran his dial while I broke out. It DEFINITLY feels better that we ended it that way instead of two red lights.

I gave CCDV a plug to the GM Performance magazine reporter. He said it should come out in the March 2004 issue. I thought the rest of the world should know who they were dealing with! :D

Thanks to everyone who helped me along yesterday and especially our beloved pit crew Rose who managed to have my street tires mounted on my car while I was receiving my trophy. If THAT doesn't make someone feel special, I don't know what does.

I love you guys!

Joe...

No need to "love" me... Like is just fine.... haha

Yep, I went red sort of kind on purpose, mashing the pedal when I saw yours come up...

Don't worry, Walter told me he just can't get Ellis "RED" out of his system, but after 2 races now without saying it, he promised he'd call me Ellis "King of the Track" Gray, on Oct 25, but warned me if I go early again, its back to Ellis RED...

He also told me the entire tower cracks up when you lose, and they say Adios Senor Signore..

I said, bro, thats cold, and he said it makes everyone who hears it laugh...

Oh well... Keep on winning, and don't give him the opportunity to say it, just as I will try to keep a certain word out of his mouth as well!

Give those announcers creative freedom as they have to try to make interesting for everyone.

Just to tell them about "REDGAR" cause they will use it when I go red

The announcers had me cracking up at my worst moment yesterday. I was listening to them on the radio as I started my race againt Ralph in the CC. They were wondering if I would be called Senor Senor if I was south of the border. Just then I crossed the finish line and without skipping a beat Walter said it really doesn't matter what they call me south of the border because right here they're calling me Senor Spectator! I just lost a very important race that took me out of the lead for Rookie of the Year for the first time all season but I couldn't help laughing. It was cold but it sure was funny! :D

Oh, I almost forgot... Al, I picked up your SLP shirt & hat.

Congrats to all you guys! ;bt Richy the new clutch felt great! Did think my ET's would have been better since the car was running good, but, I lost time with my 3rd to 4th shift in every run. I think I as a little too careful with them since that's the shift I usually screw up. Not a nice sound when you drop in into 2nd instead of 4th.. Even though it was a very very long day with hundreds of F bodies and we waited and waited and waited. Shame was, we only got 2 trial runs before the elims that spread over 4 hours! Couldn't believe that perfect light and after that I was a little tenative so my next 2 lights averaged .090.... Not bad for an old guy! The run I lost was one of the best I've had in 4 years. The guy I ran jumped me at the light, but, I pulled past him in second and held him in third. Went into fourth & he jumped past me & got me by .008. Had a great time and watch out for Lee. His car was running great & he lost by a hair! And Joe, as he bemoans how poor he's doing and then dusts your butt...ha ha. Had to crack up too when the announcer said, "He's senor spectator now!" ;bl Great bunch of guys and fun. Hope more people start coming out! Missed you Al!
