This Might violate the warranty.

Stop by Bryner and Steve can do plug in and tell you what's causing it in a few minutes.

Sometimes you can reset it via the DIC, turn key and do not start, find the code, when they come up you can reset them.....sometimes, but if it a current issue it will come back on upon starting.

Nick, you know I know how. I've reset yours before.

Bring it over here.

I agree with Karl. You probably set off a code reset it and it might go away. Also check and make sure your gas cap is on properly. A loose gas cap will also set off the check engine light.

He definately, not probably threw some codes..............

Nick is pretty good at leaning out his engine :D

We'll read all the codes if he brings it here and see just what it was..

The last time I reset Nicks was after he was bouncing off the rev limiter like a super ball against a brick wall.............
Codes: 0171 & 0174

Nick, if you want to read the codes do this.
Turn the key to the ON position, but don't start the engine.
Clear any present messages by pressing the RESET button.
Hold the OPTIONS button down, and press the FUEL button 4 times.
This will get you into the CODES section of the DIC.
The computer will automatically display all the codes your car has created.
It will cycle through each code every 3 seconds.
Any code that ends in H is a history code (something that has occurred in the past) but is fine now.
Once the computer has finished going through all of it's codes, press RESET to enter Manual Configuration mode.
It should start with a module and show "NO CODES" or "# CODES".

If you want to reset them all AND turn off your check engine light do this:
To optionally reset the codes once in manual mode, press and hold RESET until it displays "NO CODES".
Press OPTIONS to go to the next module.
Repeat the steps in this paragraph until you have reset the codes in all the computer modules.

NOTE!! Only reset the codes IF you want to - it is NOT necessary to do this.

Remember, these codes can be alerting you to problems. If the check engine light comes on again soon, I'd suggest heading to Bryner. If you did just beat the car into submission like you did last time, you're probably ok.

Thanks you for the help. The light was on before and Glenn did reset It. I guess its time for Bryner. I have been getting on it lately and it was breaking up past 100MPH. Not to mention, I cheaped out on the last fill up and filled up with reg. gas. OH brother!

Glenn and Mark:
Would you guys be interested in installing headers on the Outlaw. I know you can do it, and I would rather give you the work than send it somewhere.
Think about it boys.

Nick,

I'll pass on installing the headers. If you get headers you need to have the car tuned anyway and many shops will thow in the tune with the install. I had my car dyno tuned at the shop off Mearns road and they did a great job. They'd be a good choice for the header install.

Nick if you continue to use regular gas you may want to get a one inch strip of black electrical tape and place it directly over the check engine light. You know the same tape you use to correct the flashing 12:00 am on your VCR.;bl

Nick, You'll need to turn up the radio to drown out the pinging sound
from the cheapo gas.;at
