I flew into South Jersey Regional Airport yesturday and ran into an old friend...I won't go there but he has a lot of cars. I forget what his daily driver car is called , but it was a Lotus or a Ferrarri that is called a Modem 360. He took me for a ride and on a two lane highway it hit 140 mph very quick.
I was very and most impressed with the stick shift that don't have a clutch. If the new C-6 don't have that,,,it will be out of date before its made.

Hey Norm. You left out one important piece of information. How

A Ferrari Modena 360 costs $ 153,133.00 "buckaroos !!" And according to the last Motor Trend tests it goes zero to 60 in 3.9 sec & the quarter in 12,2 @ 113.5. It stops 60-0 in 117 feet.
The same magazine lists a ZO6 at $ 50,420.00. This went from zero to 60 in 4.1 sec & the quarter in 12.5 @ 114.9. It stops from 60 -0 in 104 feet. So, if you really look at this you can buy 3 ZO6's for the price of one (buy the way the Modena 360 is one of their cheaper models) Ferrari. ;cbOh by the way, if you take those times Ellis Gray's car runs neck & neck with that & Wheelz smokes his ass!! ;bt;bt Now Norm, if you need to spend a ton of money and get something different, well, save yourself $7000.00 and buy a (dare I mention the word) Ford GT. That thing goes zero to 60 in 3.7 secs. & turns the quarter in 11.7 @ 122 mph. Brakes from 60 -0 in 100 feet! Plus, the mag pukes say it's easier to drive than the Ferrari. Finally, you keep some money here in the USA where we surely need it. ;yn ;psIf it were me, I'd get the Vette every time & like Richy, mod it slightly and enjoy Italian Toast every chance I'd get.;jj

If all you are interested in is getting down the 1/4 mile, then you are certainly correct, the Ferrari is not for you. BUT then either should the $52k Corvette. There are much less expensive ways to get down the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds.
Just don't try out your Corvette agaisnt the Modena on an 11 turn road course.
Don't get me wrong, the Corvette is the bargain of the entire motoring world, and that's why I own one and love it. I would love to own a 360 but could never justify the cost.

I don't know Glenn. I read a comparision test not so long ago, (June 2003 Motor Trend)with a whole bunch of "world class" cars like Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Mercedes , Viper and the like. Now, the Vette didn't win, but, it not only held it's own but finished in the top 5 in almost EVERY catagory. Plus the Ferrari tested was a 575M Maranello, which is 100 grand more than the 360....;yn Don't kid yourself. I know they're all great cars, but, you are paying a ton of loot just for the status. And that's okay, but, I always like rooting for the underdog! By the way, the overall winner was a LS6 powered Mosler MT900. Incredible what an old fashioned pushrod engine can still do. :D

Glen
That's the car only his was black. It was his daily driver. He has some V12 Ferrari and some 500 series supercharged Mercedes at his home in his garage. It's quite clear that God didn't treat us all the same financially!!! The engine whine at 8,000 rpms is sweat music.
It was a joy to ride in, but I think I'll just stay satisfied with my little blue Vette. Cars are like airplanes and boats...someone is always going to have a bigger.better. faster one.
