Yea, I hope it's warmer, but I sure don't mind the rain.
It was a blast in the water.

If you're looking for (safe) fun with your Vette (or even your daily beater), this is the WAY TO GO!! Sure, racing with the Team at Englishtown is enjoyable, but it's an hour + away and that rush lasts 10 to 15 seconds with usually lots of time in between. This is 4 or more runs lasting 60 to 90+ non-stop seconds and you don't wait an hour + in between runs! Come & watch or give it a try. Nothing to lose & your Vette will thank you!

The course that they usually set up is a blast to drive in a Vette!

I would love to do this but I'm worried that with the power I'm making and the stock eagle F1 SC tires I'll be like a bull in a china shop.

this event would be perfect for the EVO. Its in pieces at the moment for some routine maintence, I don't know if I'll have it back together in time.

I was just going to say, take the Evo. But check which session it would fit into, you wouldn't necessarily run when the Vettes are there.

It looks like the EVO would run in "AS" which happens to be the same class as Doug's Corvette.
AS runs in the afternoon sessions this week.
That changes every time we run at Warminster. Next time the AS class will run in the morning sessions.

You can check the class of any car by clicking here ====> SCCA Solo Car Classes (http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Lists/2006/stockm.html)

my buddy is going with his s2000 so I'll be there one way or another, either spectating or participating. I'd prefer the latter but we'll see.

I enjoy going & just seeing the Evo's, WRX's, Miata's, Lotus', Mini's, etc, etc. all doing their thing (which is considerably faster than what I do in the Vette!). But serious Vette competitors like Frank Gonzalez really highlight what a Vette can do! I've said this before: One ride-along with him & that'll get you psyched up for life!! He's an Auto-X'er extraudinaire!
I won't ever be in his league but I'm in it for the FUN, not the competition.

Get your Evo put back together and you can run with your buddy, you will both be in the same class, A-Stock. Unless either of you two have modded either car.

If you decide to run the Vette you will have a difficult time navigating the course with the power your Vette puts out! You will have more fun with the Evo.

NOTE: Pre-registration is closed. Over 180 pre-registered and they are only accepting a max of 210 so you may want to get there early if you decide to go.

Depends on when you get there....

Get there at 0800hrs, your chances are very good, get there at noon, your chances suck

I plan to get there (hopefully) before 8:30 to register, get my work assignments, get tech'd in, walk the course, check out the cars racing in the AM sessions, then help shag cones or whatever. I plan to do an early lunch & be ready to race as soon as the noon sessions begin.
At least that's my PLAN!?!

I won't be able to race my car but I'm still going with my buddy in his s2000 to scope things out.

what time should we be there to reserve a spot? if we get there @ 8am will that work?

Doug Bereczki
05-05-07, 03:23 PM
That should be fine. If your buddy is going to run with the class that the S-2000 belongs in ( A-stock ), he will run in the afternoon. You can register at 8:00AM for the afternoon session

This is the afternoon schedule

PM Session Schedule:
- 11:00 Arrive
- 11:30 - 12:30 Registration / Tech Inspection
- 12:30 Mandatory Drivers Meeting
- 1:10 - 1:45 Course Walks / Competitors Pre-Grid cars / Novice Course Walk
- 1:45 First Afternoon Car Off
- 1:45 - 3:15 Heat 3
- 3:15 - 4:45 Heat 4
- 4:45 - 5:00 Clean Up
- 5:00 PM Trophies

Registration opens at 8:00AM. When you arrive go directly to the big white truck, there should be a registration tent set up up next to it. There are 183 people pre-registered with a cap of 210. the earlier the better to get a spot.

If you don't want to wait till the afternoon session you could inquire at the time of registration about running 'non-comp' or run as a novice in the AM session. It can't hurt to ask.

The S-2000 would be in AS class and they run in Group D.
Group D is the first group to run the AFTERNOON session.
First car off in the afternoon is scheduled for 1:45pm and that COULD BE even later than that if the morning groups A & B run over time.

If you are not far away, you could stop by at 8am, sign up and come back.
The schedule asks for PM session drivers to start to arrive at 11:00am
They are running the groups in this order on May 6 B, A, D, C
Below is the schedule for the day
Registration will officially open at 8:00 AM. Registration for the AM heats will close by 9:00 sharp. If you Pre-Register, you must still check in at registration and get your work assignment prior to getting your car teched!

AM Session Schedule: Groups B & A
- 7:30 to 8:00 Arrive (The earlier the better!)
- 8:00 - 9:00 Registration / Work Assignments
- 8:15 - 9:15 Tech Inspection / Pre-Grid Cars
- 8:30 Novice Course Walk and Sporadically during morning
- 9:40 to 9:50 Mandatory Drivers Meeting
- 9:50 to 10:00 Get to Worker Assignments / Get to your cars
- 10:00 First Car Off
- 10:00 - 11:30 Heat 1
- 11:40 - 1:10 Heat 2
- 1:30 AM Trophies

PM Session Schedule: Groups D & C
- 11:00 Arrive
- 11:30 - 12:30 Registration / Tech Inspection
- 12:30 Mandatory Drivers Meeting
- 1:10 - 1:45 Course Walks / Competitors Pre-Grid cars / Novice Course Walk
- 1:45 First Afternoon Car Off
- 1:45 - 3:15 Heat 3
- 3:15 - 4:45 Heat 4

haha you two posted at the exact same time. thanks for the detailed responses.

that sucks to get there @ 8:00 to register then not run until aprox. 1pm or so... I looked up the z06 and it would be in SS class, when does that one run?

Glennm27
05-05-07, 10:15 PM
SS runs same time as AS

Run Groups:

Group A - STS, STS2, STX2, STU, DS, Ladies, F125, Karts (NOTE: no karts in NJ)
Group B - FS, GS, HS, PRO, All Mod Classes,
Group C - SM, SM2, ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP
Group D - STX, SS, AS, BS, CS, ES, All Prepared Classes

They change up the order that the groups run every time they run at Warminster. This week the groups are set up to run this way:

AM Sessions
B then A

PM Sessions
D then C

hey Glenn: Yes that's a nice shot of the '76 in action! Right below your red hot Honda-mobile. I had a lot of fun even though I couldn't get the darn thing started for the 4th round! AAA came to my rescue & it looks like I'm in need of a high voltage alternator. I think that maybe the new electric dual fans are pulling too much current for the original one.!?!

Yes I saw your first pass. You were a bit on the cautious side...

The Yellow Z06 was just the opposite, I hope you got a chance to see it run. Frank & Steve were both driving that car and they really cranked off some awesome laps.... I saw Steve run a 49 and Frank an 50 before I took off.

thats weird, I made a post and it didn't show up.

Anyways, yes I did see that car run. I was talking to Steve for a little bit and he put Eric Simmons in my car to give me some pointers. I even let him to a run to show me hows its done.

Your Vette looks & SOUNDS awesome!! And yes, maybe (?) a little too much power. But the name of the game is to have FUN!! You get more runs for experience & then maybe you'll be able to harness & appreciate the power.
and Glenn: Thank you my good friend!!
