No it's NOT a Corvette! It's a 2000 Wells Cargo 5 x 8 enclosed -double rear doors - trailer in excellent condition. Has carpeting, a roof vent, wind deflector, overhead light, new spare tire. It's owned by the N/E Muscle Car Club but you can contact me if you or anyone else are interested. S/P = $1,500. o/b/o.
Thanks, Joel

Is this something the club should buy to downsize from the 40' trailer we are currently using for storage of old Cavalcade supplies?

I think the Club should buy it for the CCDV Racers for the transport of tires/wheels, jacks and tools that are used at the track.

Sounds like a good idea to me Rick. Not only to help haul tires & wheels to E Town ;yn, but also tents to Carlisle.

There is just the little matter of where do we store it, Who insures it (EXTREMELY hard to get insurance for this type of entity and particularly a vehicle without an underlying auto policy), Who maintains, who tags it, Etc.

I was thinking we could keep it at your place. Do you have a hitch on the Mercedes yet? ;bl

It would offer space at no charge for the clup to keep on the my parking lot at my work place but my shop is located up in Telford.

I think the NEMCC prez keeps it at his home so it's close to hitch up. If CCDV is interested, I think we can get it for a few hundred less & I can ask who they insure it with.

I think it's worth more discussion. If Norm is serious Telford is only 15 miles from Willow grove. It would certainly make things easier but is it worth the few times a year when we will use it? Some would say no but they weren't the ones loading wet and muddy Cav signs, tents, tire changing device etc.. up into the 40 trailer during a thunderstorm, I ruined a good pair of sneakers and jeans last year. Getting too old for that kinda crap. Right Paul? A small walk in trailer seems a lot more civilized to me.

I think this needs a lot more Thought.
1) We have a big trailer for Cavalcade Use which I have loaded and unloaded for over 15 years.
2) This generates a lot of liability for the club and means vehicle insurance and increased cost in liability insurance.
3) Who should be allowed to use it? EVERY CLUB MEMBER WOULB BE ENTITLED TO USE IT if the racers get to use it. Therefore do we know they are qualified and have the right vehicle to haul a trailer. Think about the potential risks.
I have Great concern over the liability it will generate to the club, members and offices, etc. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Oh brother.
It would be a nice thing to have. We could get the sides air brushed and it would be neat. However Bob is right, it would have to be insured. We have members that are in the insurance business. Lets see what they say about the costs and the liability issues that would be involved. We also have a few attorneys within the club, we could ask them for there thoughts as well. It would also be a good spot to sell advertising on the side. Maybe Bryner would like to put his name somewhere on it and help pay the cost in a swap for the ad space. Lets get some more thoughts from our other members.

I doubt Bryner or any respectable business would put their name on a vehicle/trailer that's not driven by an employee. Too many issues like it being where it's not supposed to be, or driven a way it's not supposed to be driven. It's just not good business.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a trailer, but it's not going to be easy solving all the issues. I do wish the race team could find a solution so that we'd at least be able to tow a car home. I just don't know where we'd store it conveniently.

I can see it now!
Liquid Assets Mobile Lounge and cigar bar. We'd have to start charging dues at the lounge though.

I think it's worth more discussion. If Norm is serious Telford is only 15 miles from Willow grove. civilized to me.
Norm is serious but I can fly my crappy little airplane at half throttle from Phila to Harrisburg faster than that 15 mile drive. That road between Willow Grove and route 309 isn't a drive I enjoy.
