Hey Don, thought you were going to e mail me so we could hook up down there? Anyway, it was a great weekend! The weather was great and my only disappointment was that I saw banners from the Free State Corvette Club, the Southern Maryland, the Northern Virginia, The Cumberland Valley Club, Allentown Area, The LAKES Club, Gettysburg , theDC area and the Skyline Club just to mention a few. Even though we ran into at least 8 other couples we knew, and there were at least 3 cars from our club in the show and 2 of which won major trophies, there wasn't any sign of our club. ;tt Next year I'm going to ask Bill Burkholder to borrow our club banner, and at least hang it on our motel railing. Plus, alot of these clubs, as far as I could see, didn't have cars that could hold a candle up to our club's. ;sm I really think that we should try to organize at least some sort of presense down there.;yn
What do you think?;tt;tt

I like that idea. I'd be in for next year. If this would be something we would attempt as a club, we should start talking now.
I would imagine that motel reservations need to be made well in advance.
I love going to these things, but would be more apt to travel that far for a show if I were going with a group.

Mike I sent you an email by clicking on the email icon. It must not have gone thru or maybe the email address is no good. I was thinking the same thing about a CCDV sign, with a few thousand people milling about it hard to find anyone. The only people we were able to hook up with were Don and Sue Kellner, fortunately their C3 is easier to spot than a Banner.

Don Kellner standing third from left in a yellow shirt. He is recieving his Children's Choice Award. In front are some of the Children afflicted with Spina Bifida that chose Don's car for the Award.

It's pretty difficult for me to believe that Don's car only came in 2nd for being prepaired for racing??? What did in the heck did number 1 look like????

Don,

Great picks, sorry I couldn't make it.

Bill is looking for volunteers for a special events committee he is trying to organize. After a superb job with the road rally, taking part in both Ocean City events (NJ & MD) and posting great pictures on the web site for all three events, you need to get involved. You could definitely be an asset to that committee and also the club.

What do you think?

Interesting questions guys. As to Don Kellner's car only coming in second as raced prepared,I only saw a couple of other cars set up that way. One only had harness belts and a NO bottle, but no roll bar! The second one just had numbers on it, but who knows?
I saw the kids checking notes, so, maybe that's who judged the cars.
And Don, if you want to set up an organized trip, we can help you with motel input and added info. ;yn Plus, the place where we stayed is totally booked for next year due to a simultaneous "surf fishing convention"...;faz We know a couple other places that may be in expensive.

I was also amazed that Don's car came in 2nd, when I asked him why he said that they had overlooked a small amount of debris on one of the seats and that was enough to drop him down just enough points to cost him first place.
I've been to a few of these Boardwalk events and they are a lot of fun we need to get a Boardwalk here in the Delaware Valley. You know if Pennsylvania raises all the bridges that span the Delaware River at the same time New Jersey just might float away and w'ell have instant beachfront property. ;bt
