Got home yesterday from Bryner's after having the roof fixed. Went to open the back hatch and it opens fine. However, it won't stay open. I think the gas cylinders are crapped out. What do I do?

All 3 ideas above are good ones, but I like Carl's the best.

Hang the car upside down from the ceiling. The hatch will stay open AND give you more usable garage space.

Mike, I would fully extend the gas spring, measure it. Cut off a peice off a broomstick to size. Paint it black to make it look nice and use it to prop the hatch open.;at

The problem isn't making an appointment. The problem is, you go down there, they check it out, and order the parts and you have to go back for another appointment after they get the parts. That's why I wanted to ask Spence so I could eliminate several back & forths. ;tt See, I don't exactly live around the corner from Bryner's & I have to take off work each time to get down there which is frowned upon by my employers. ;yn Thanks for the input guys. I'll make sure I bring the broomstick along with me too.

I will come and pickup your car, take it for service and return it home, my employer understands. ;) Let me know

When did you EVER hear of an offer like that from ANY service center? Of course ANY service center doesn' have a Steve Spencer.

Steve,
Don't let Richy know, he will be wanting transmission replacement under the lights at Nesmaminy. :)

Sorry Richy, couldn't resist.
