New garage is finally up and closed in. Just about done roughing in the wiring and expect to start insulating next week. Expect to see the Vette move in this spring.

My wife already thinks I am going to move in, she can't imagine why I want to put in AC, silly women

Did put in one high bay for a lift, start insulating tomorrow night, drywall to follow.

Looks like another Opdyke creation. Good luck wth it. GE makes a real nice AC/heater one unit heat pump if you want heating as well.

I'm in the middle of finishing up the drywall in mine (those sheets are heavy).

Opdyke creation it is. Just finished helping a friend who has the same garage drywall his. We used a drywall jack and what a difference. I will have to get one to put the ceiling up in the high bay. What size sheets did you use on the walls? I was thinking of using 12'ers and laying them on their side to cut down on the joints

Yes, a drywall jack makes all the difference.

I used 10' pieces vertically since the walls were about 9'8 high. The overall ceiling height is 11'. In retrospect, mounting horizontally may have made the job easier (I was doing the walls on my own - had a buddy help me with the ceiling).

I used two of the new jack shaft garage door operators from Chamberlan. A bit more expensive that a Sears opener, but no ceiling mounts to get in the way of the car on the lift.

Need some info on this! Where does the drive unit mount?

Did you install them yourself and where did you get them. I had the torsion type springs installed so I wouldn't have interference with a lift.

The unit mounts on the side of the door and is coupled to the jack shaft. You need about 8-12 inches of clearance on the side to fit it in and may need to cut down the shaft. Very straightforward install, but I would be happy to help out. Here is a link to the unit

There is a link on this page to the owners manual as well.

I bought them from a dealer in West Chester.

NASK DOOR INC
1233 WRIGHTS LN STE 100
WEST CHESTER, PA 19380

I bought one to see how it would go and the next day I picked up the other one. They were surprised that I was able to do the job so quickly (not being a professional installer).

See my repsonse to Tony. The shaft needs to be 1" diameter. The remaining installation requirements are in the manual http://www.liftmaster.com/pdfdocs/114A3268.pdf

As I mentioned to Tony, I would be happy to help out if you like.
