Back in the old days when the Cavalcade of Corvettes Show was at Bryner Chevrolet in Jenkintown PA. I met one of the members GREG STEICH. Is he still in the club? He had a white 1960 Corvette. The most unique Corvette at the show that year was a 1963 Coupe. The car was perfect with only 6,000 orig miles and the Z-06 option. Sebring Silver with the saddle tan interior it was one of a kind. A couple of other nice cars that year were a Aztec Copper 1957 FI with a hardtop and one lady had a blue 1966 425HP convertible. Also seem to remember a red 9,000 mile 1969 350HP Coupe to. A great show back then both inside and outside the dealership. Even the mall across the street was full of Corvettes!

Charles:
I don't recall ever seeing a Greg Steich but Frank Stech is the Judging Chairman of the Del-Val NCRS Chapter. I believe he's owns & has owned several Vettes over the years. The Aztec Copper '57 is still around but I haven't seen it for quite a while! A white & black custom '60 (with a blower) was very popular years ago. It was featured at many shows with a life sized Darth Vader standing beside it! Chip Miller owned a beautiful low mileage red '69 "427" - of course it now belongs to his son, Lance. I don't recall anything on the other Vettes but perhaps some longer term members might know about them? By the way, were you a member in the past? Joel

Hi Joel, thanks for your reply. No never a member, just enjoyed your car shows in the past. One year I was at Bryner it was raining very hard. Everyone was lined up outside waiting for the show to open. The lady I was with knew Bob (forget his last name) who seemed to be in charge. He waved us past the doorman and the fun started early for us... Bob I believe had a blue 1969 Z/28 with the cross ram carbs. That was back when a nice Z cost 6,000 not 60,000 dollars! Greg Steich was in the club but he worked for a Ford dealer; gotta pay for that Sunoco 260.

I think you might be talking about Bob Fox. He was quite a character! I saw him last at the Hatboro Car Show a few years ago and before that he had me over to his home to give me a few boxes of CCDV memorabilia; old photos, Cavalcade posters, Gas Cap newsletters, etc. that he found while cleaning out his attic.
He's a very nice guy!!

Hi Joel: you are correct, that was the man 'Bob Fox'. Greg lived in Pottstown which would be 215-536 I think? Did Bob have a membership roster from the mid 70's perhaps? You were lucky to get some of the old memorabilia. Maybe you can scan some of the old photos on here...

Charles - Thanks for your interest in our club and going to the shows.

We have our General Membership meetings the 2nd Thursday of the month and feel free to come one month as our guest of honor and talk to our long term members about the shows back in the day that you attended. We have a few beers after the meetings and have fun.

The meetings last about a 1 to 1:15 hours, start at 8:00 pm and are at the VE club in Warminster.

Hi Ed Bonk: thanks for your offer but I am still up in Ontario Canada. I don't get down to PA much anymore. I was always impressed by the quality of the Corvettes that turned out for your annual show. Hope the weather is nice for your show this year!
