I am collecting money for a NEW VIDEO CAMERA for the Corvette Challenge. I have spoken to Edgar and other racers about this. I am going to collect the funds through my Pay Pal account so it can be monitored by the Corvette Challenge Administrators.

I know most of you watch the videos after an event. Just imagine watching the videos with better quality.

If you are interested, Please send me a PM for my Pay Pal user ID to send your donations.

Rob, Thanks for taking the initiative on this. Since the CC will be monitoring the donations do we need a Pay Pal account to get you the money?

Rob,
You have my contribution, good luck on the drive. Edgar has contributed an extreme amount of time and the use of his personal camera equipment for years. The success of the Challenge is through his hard work and dedication to the sport. It would be great to see "high quality" videos of the Challenge for all to enjoy. http://corvettechallenge.info

This might be a good opportunity for CCDV to sponsor/pay for the camera and contribute to the history of the racing community. As the club with the largest participation in the challenge, this camera-video sponsorship would confirm and secure CCDV as a premier club.
The sponsorship of the new video-camera might be able to provide a link to our website.

Hi Ron, CCDV already sponsors the ECSCC (you need to come to more races, dude) and we have a link on it's website as well. The camera donation is probably the best way to handle this. I wouldn't feel right asking the membership to buy a camera that would never be used at club events. But keep that frame of mind, I'm sure there are things the club can do. ;)

Well said Joe. This is an occasion that seldom happens. It is not a tribute to a club or an organization. It is an individual who has come forward to recognize a tremendous amout of dedication to a sport that has been around for decades. To me this is a "thank you" to Edgar in his earnest endeavor to keep this sport growing. Edgar asks for nothing he just sits in the background with a huge smile on his face being proud for what is happening in the Corvette Challenge. The folks at Raceway Park have got to be proud of what Edgar stands for.

Rob, my hat is off to you for taking this step, you saw the need and you stepped up.

Ron Polo, I like your sence of thinking and and it is great that you come forward to support this action. Joe is right, in the total scheme of things it is not the responsibility of CCDV to move forward by using club donations. This is something that should be done through the recognition of the people who love this sport and want to see it continue.

There were over 105 drivers signed up for the Challenge this year, it is growing because of the love of racing. Hopefully there will be more people interested this next year. Let those members step up and support this making of racing history through video.

Thanks Edgar and from CCDV thanks to Tony and Rose for your dedication to the sport.

Jim
