View Full Version : Want to race Sunday at E-town 9-14
If you want to get some comp practice in Sunday is a good day to go.
There is a $5000 race ($100 entry) for Super Pro (electronics ALLOWED but not required)
or
Heavy (no electronics) for $40 (winner can win as much as $1000 depending on car count and they can pay down to the 8ths)
Street (no electronics) for $25 (I think) and winenr gets $200 (I think)
they are only offering one time run.
Should be crowded with the prettiest american race cars you will see at the the track and dragsters and of course at least one street vette

Hmmmm, wonder how the weather is going to be? I was thinking about going to the air show Sunday but still haven't gotten into the spirit yet. What time were you going to leave?
Sunday is a long day. I will likely get there around 9 am.
I will run heavy and they would let us start our cars till 10.
You can run Heavy or Street

Mike,
Do you have the details of the Buckingham car show?

Yessir! It's Sept 14th at Holicong Park. That's right on RT 263/202
in Buckingham at the intersection of York & Holicong Roads. It starts at 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. To register it's $15, per car & it costs $5 per person just to get in. It's an excellent show since they have a very broad spectrum of cars, from old classics, to modern exotics. The only problem, this weekend (it seems like almost every weekend for the last year at least;yn) is if it rains really hard on Saturday and continues on Sunday it'll be rained out and held next week, the 21st. For more info call Al Pincus or Ralph Tompkins at 215-598-0882 or 215-598-3740. ;hw
Plus, if it rains Sunday our racing event will be bumped for the 20th too. ;gm And now we have to worry about a freakin' hurricane!! ;www It's been so crappy this year that I've put less than 2000 miles on my car. ;tt

Wasn't the CCDV invited to display some Vettes at this show the last couple of years? I'm surprised this is the first I've heard of it this year. Is anyone from the club going to be there?? Guess we should have a separate thread about that subject. It wasn't mentioned at the meeting last night either. Seems like we're getting squeezed out of events this year, like this and the air show.

Actually Carl some of the same folks who had their cars in the past 3 years will be back again. However, it seems that the Radnor Concours d'Elegance invited several of our members this year too and unfortunately they're on the same day. ;yn Since I had already signed up back in January and have been there before, plus live right down the street I'm going there. Also, the Radnor show only invited some of the older pristine cars. ;) Anyway, an analogy would be like the Hatboro and Lansdale show being on the same day....;faz I know about at least 10 cars from our club will be there. Some folks like the Satchells will have a car in both shows. It's not too late. You can sign up at the door. Plus, they have a nice complementary breakfast..;bt
PS; besides I think the whole thing was low keyed since the rally's likely to be on the same day too... go figure. ;tt

Please don't blame the rally. I should have received notice about the Buckinham show months ago. I received none, but I'll take the blame anyway. I wonder why those who knew about it didn't ask me why it wasn't posted months ago.

Joe, the only reason that it "might" be the same day as the rally is because the rally was previously rained out. Now, if it's rained out again, then and only then is there any conflict. However, I don't know why no-one mentioned it to you. Please accept my apology, because, I thought you knew about it. ;tt The only reason I brought it up was because of the racing date...:( Besides, I'm the last guy that would want to bring up any controversy...
Hey you thread hijackers :D start your own thread.
This one is about racing...which looks like it might not happen now anyway.
