View Full Version : Wheel/rim repair..
I noticed gouge in the outer lip of one my 2 piece SSR GT3 rims...
Seems to be a simple job..
Rim needs to be disassembled, lip repaired, polished & re-cleared or chromed.. Re-assembled..
Need recomendations...
(Wheel Collision in Bath PA, wouldn't do these..)
Thanks..

El,
You were looking for an excuse to buy another set anyway.

Nope... these are here for the duration of my ownership of this car..
Want to get it fixed..
These rims are the best fit & look in my opinion, so I'm staying w/ them!
Wheel Collision won't do them? They just did one of my customers HRE custom chrome wheel, maybe they lost their shirts on that one.

Hard to believe Carl...
According to Jim Dawes, Wheel Collision has turned down about 6 sets of aftermarket rims he referred people to..
Apparently they only want to do 1 piece factory rims only..
I wanted these lips re-done when I got these, called them, arranged for pick up, they looked at them & sent them back..
When I asked why, he simply said he won't do them..
All that wasted time, & effort to borrow another set of wheels to put on my car for nothing..

If they are not clear coated it is pretty easy to sand the spot and polish it out.

That is disappointing. :(

El,
There is a place on Route #1 called Magic Cure. They did some BMW wheels for me and did a great. They do a lot of work for some of the larger dealers in the area. Might be worth checking on.
Jim
Sending them out for chrome lips...
That is how they should have come in the first place...
