Interesting reading...
BTW, Penske has not fielded a CART team in over 5 years. As a matter of fact, Championship Auto Racing Teams is no longer.

Good job for clarifing that. I'm glad you brought it to everyones attention, as it is an important point in the discussion of ethanol..keep up the good work.

Well, you should get your facts straight before posting. It only makes you look like you have no idea what you're talking about. Which is what I sure believe if the guy tells you he works for Penske's CART team.. and you believe it enough to post it.
If you guys can't get the basics straight, why should anyone believe any part of what is said.
Keep up your work, even though it's not really that good.

Seems you are jumping the gun again Glenn.
If you thought 3 dimensionally and not 1 dimensionally, you might realize that Bob's bio was posted on my forum years ago. I simply copied and pasted it here. But, why is that so important to you, unless you are just trying to belittle someone else. Seems as if this has been your goal, where my posts are concerned. Bob Pache is well respected in the racing community as a chemist for Mobil 1. Whether or not you believe it is not important. I am proud to know Bob and appreciate his contribution to my website and to St Judes Hospital for children. I really don't need to explain to someone like you, or try to justify Bob's credentials, however, I did so for the sake of others here. You are making it obvious to me and to others, that you are tearing apart every post that I write. I have not seen one constructive or informative post by you, only replies that try to agitate, so therefore, I believe you have nothing else to do with your time. Why don't you spend your idle time constructively and take some time to donate to St Judes Hospital for Children on my website.
I know you will reply to this, however, go ahead and embarass yourself. I am done replying to any of your posts.

I am usually "Swede"n when it comes to these things, but Father Larry your "frehd" Bob is "not too current" in his own words on the subject and neither is your information about his credentials. Why not wait and post the info when he gets back to you with all the answers to your important questions? The fact that he is your friend, and a nice and generous guy has nothing to do with the subject. We have alot of fun around here but when you post serious technical info make sure it is relevant and CURRENT otherwise you sound like a BLOWHARD, imho. If you are interested, I have got winning lottery numbers from 5 years ago.

Well, Father. You screwed with me a couple years ago on this forum for no dam reason, so I never let a chance go by correct you. The only thing that really is not fun any more is you make it too easy.
You continually post crap here and continually make posts without really knowing what all you are saying. As in this case "I Emalled a good frend of mine Bob Pache, former research engineer for Mobil, and current technical support provider for Penske Racing's NASCAR and CART programs. "
So I am not embarrasing myself at all, just pointing out your mistakes, just about every time you post here.
Thanks for reading.....
All my first reply stated was a correction to your statement.

If Lee's "Swede"n then I'm the U.N. While this has all made for amusing reading it has nothing to do with the origional topic of suitable fuel for Corvettes.
Father Larry, If would have been helpful if you had continued the discussion in the origional post. The title of your thread had no connection to the origional topic so it was unclear what you were trying to say. And you might consider using spell check in the future.
Best regards,
Mark

Hey Larry,
You might have some good info in your post but what the deal with jumping down Glenn's throat, he merely corrected an obvious mistake in your post. I didn't see anything malicious about that. Maybe a thanks for the correction would have kept this string on the topic, which is something I think we are all concerned with.
I think you need to step back and take a breath dude.

I rest my case!
BTW, I tried to correct the spelling in my subject, however, it can't be done. If the moderator can be so kind as to fix it up for me, so it doesn't bother these guys, they would appreciate it...
My spelling isn't always top notch lately, since my eyes have been pretty bad. I have to look at the keys to type and can't see the keyboard. I have keriticonus, which is a degenerative eye disease. I may need a cornea transplant, but right now their trying to correct it with implants, but in the meantime I make a lot of mistakes if I rush typing these posts.
Hey, Glenn, I have no beef with you now or did I a few years ago. If you feel I screwed you in the past, then I do apologize, but I never met you and don't recall what you're referring to. Life's too short to hold a grudge about anything. I thought we had something in common with our 70 Mach 1's. That's all that I remember about you.
Anyway, Bob said he'll be in the lab next week and get more info about the ethanol. Will keep everyone posted.
The main concern that most of my members are emailing me about, is storing their Vettes for the winter with the 10% ethanol in the tank. So, I think it's something that would benefit all of us to know.

I corrected your title as requested, sorry to hear about your eye condition.
Personally, I don't see this thread adding anything to the other discussion about ethanol. If you guys want to continue this thread would you mind if I moved it into the Members Only section, or are we about done?

More fuel on the fire pun intended.
Excerpt from Bob Pache's email
Larry:
I am not too current on tine fuel side. ..... I do not believe that ExxonMobil is adding ethanol to their fuel and the number of states offering is small.

Exxon Mobil buys almost 10% of the ethanol produced in the United States. It and other refiners like BP Plc and Valero Energy Corp., have used more of the additive in the last five years, after states banned the additive MTBE because of concern about it polluting groundwater.

Face it there is no escape from ethanol. You have also been using it for years in some cases and you never knew. It makes my car go down the road just fine. It's everywhere even in your house and at your favorite bar. Stop worrying and be happy.
