View Full Version : Tires squeel at low speed turns?

Is this normal for a 2006?
Every time I make a very low speed turn like into a parking space or just a slow turn to another road in general I hear the tires squeeling. Very annoying but livable with.

They need air

Should have mentioned that they are at the required air pressure as stated on the inside of the door.

I'm not experiencing that.
I'm not experiencing that in my 2006 unless I am on a track going around curves at 45 MPH. August 18th, here I come.

Hey JT, I am stopping by Phoenix next Thursday on the way up to have my Tech Inspection completed. Kurt just said stop on in.
If you have not done it yet, think about this option. Just give Kurt a call....
See you next Thursday dude.

Added 5 more psi to the car, went from the 32 to 37 and so far so good. How come it says 32 if that is not what it is?

The door tire pressures are average pressures, most tires can be safely inflated 5 to 10 lbs over that, see what the tire says on it. :)

Check it with another reliable tire gauge. Just because you made the noise go away on sharp turns doesn't mean you solved the problem. That 5 extra psi may introduce an even worse condition at higher speeds.
Moral of the story... It's a high performance car. If it's acting abnormally, get it checked by someone with more than a tire gauge. Good luck.

ATTA BOY!!!!!!!!!
Another reason that tires squeal at slow speeds is due to turning the wheel sharply while taking a turn or parking in a tight spot. Billie
I think you should have the alignment checked - particularly toe settings - before a new set of tires are ruined.

put slicks on the back & skinnies on the front. That'll fix it!! (then give me the keys!)

You will also get the squeal from painted lines and sealed asphalt parking lots. I would keep the tires at no more than 2 to 3 lbs. over the door sticker and check weekly on the wear of the tires. Inside (center) wear, to much air... outside wear not enough air. I forget what Ellis said about temperature changes, # of degrees and pounds of pressure but maybe he'll chime in.....

Maybe there's a pig stuck under the car.
