I just bought my first vette- '79 Stingray. I love the car, but I am finding out that a lot of mechanics don't want to work on the older vettes. Can anyone reccommend a good mechanic in the Lansdale/Willow Grove area that does routine stuff- brakes, alignments etc.,.? Thanks a lot.

Rick, i have a 79 and i take it to Wes Cassel's Service center at 841 N. Reading Ave. in New Berlinville, pa. the phone number is 610-369-1644 i've only had the car for about 1-1/2 yrs and i've had all the work done by him. i dont know if mentioning my name would help any but its Mike Wohrle ( pronounced whirl ). the only bad thing is its a small shop and he cant garuantee he'll have room to put it inside so if your like most and dont want it out in the elements time your visits wisely.

I take my '77 to Phoenix Performance in Palm,PA. It's on Rt 29 just above Pennsburg,PA. 215-679-2232 Kurt Omensetter is the service manager and a fellow CCDV member.

CCDV members get a 10% discount on parts and labor on all vehicles, not just your corvette(s). Shop rate is $64 hour and the performance rate is $50. I also take my Suburban and Park Ave there too.

Kurt always make sure the corvettes ( and other nice cars)are inside.

They can do roll bars too. They also have a portable chassis dyno. That way you can check to see how much HP you really got from the new cam.

Jeff Mills in Hatboro - E. Montgomery Ave - right behind the WaWa and across from Silvio's. 215-956-1955. Jeff bought the shop from Dob Dobbins and is still in contact with Dob on Vette-specific issues. Jeff redid the entire suspension, electrical and vacuum on my 71 Coupe and has worked on several other C2, C3 and C4 Vettes. He has contacts for engine and trans rebuilds and exhausts (all of whom delivered great work on the 71). Quality is excellent. I think his rate is $55/hour. Tell him I recommended you if you go.

OK Dennis:
You just posted that because you want everyone to know that you've been a CCDV member 1 year longer than me! Is there really such a place as Hauck's Garage?

I have my work done by Tom Lalinsky. Does great performance work and his rates are reasonable ie Less than $55.00 per hour. He recently built Chip Miller's 59 Race Car. He is in Red Hill, Pa near Quakertown and Pennsburg. His Number is 215-679-5713. Tell him I sent you.
