I have a friend in Northampton who is obtained classic plates for his 89 and 90 Vettes. His insurance company requires a written appraisal as to the value of the vehicles, from a registered and/or licensed dealer (not necessarily new car dealer). Can someone point me towards someone that might be able to assist? It does not have to be an extraordinary appraisal ... but merely realistic. Of course, he can transport the cars to the appraisal location
Thanks for your help!

Bob,
Ask Bob Wiess, CECF had someone appraise the raffle car. Maybe he would know.

Terry Shaw, Automotive Legal Services. I don'thave his number on hand but he should be listed in the yellow pages. He is a state licensed appraiser. One of the best. Many of the Club members have used him.

We do get an appraisal from the Vette Shop for CECF. So you may want to use them.
However, My personal classic insurance carrier DOES NOT require an appraisal. My insurance co. just requires photos.
Unless you are insuring for a high amount versus traditional value. May you need a different insurance carrier.

Hi Bob! The guy is insuring his cars through Nationwide ... not a classic carrier. Nationwide's underwriting guidelines are a little looser ... they require a classic plate to qualify for their classic coverage, plus an appraisal if the value is $5K or higher (they do not have agreed value). There are no mileage restrictions imposed by Nationwide ... though I think the tag has its own restrictions. Thanks for the help!
BTW - I e-mailed The Vette Shop about having a Kirban shifter installed. Any idea on what it should run for labor (I have the shifter)?
Thanks again!

I insure my Corvettes with Classic Automobile Ins. Agency.
1-800-397-0765- The Owner is Dan Yagodnik. His is a very Nice Guy and has a ZR1.
Regular plates are OK. You can get various mileage coverage. I insure 3 vettes -(1967-big block, 1990 ZR1 and 71 LT1 for about $700 a year.
Give him a call and tell him I said hello.
Install Shifter???? Ask Bill Burkholder-he may know.
