What's the trick in getting a picture in your signature, on the left side of the page.

I think you are talking about the Avatar (shows under your username to the left over there)
Click on User CP up top THEN
Click on EDIT AVATAR, THEN
slide down in that screen to the bottom section and select the little circle
Use Custom Avatar
Then you can either choose a picture that is somewhere on the internet by choosing it's URL address OR
BROWSE your own hard disk for a picture of your choice.

When doing so, pay attention to the size limitaions described in the user CP section right there under the BROWSE window.
You may have to reduce a picture you want to use before uploading it for avatar use.

I'ver made it so avatars, profile pics, and attachments are automatically resized if they were too big. this should make it easier for you all.
