Well I think we are all set now. The attachments all made the trip over and so have all of your posts. There are still some small issues but I'll be working on them throughout the weekend. Let me know what you find not working or missing.

Your current user name and password should still work.

Here's what I have on my to do list

fix the smilie list so it actually shows the smilies
fix the old gascap threads. the last 6 months worth of gascap threads should be fine but the older ones will have lost files. I'll either convert them tot he new format and reupload them or we'll just prune the old issues.
have to work on the homepage so it includes the calendar and featured news articles for registered members like the old homepage did
lose the initial splash screen so www.ccdv.com just points to the homepage. this will really help with our search engine ranking and indexing.please list anything else that needs to be done. thanks

just fixed a couple bad links on the homepage.

need to make a hack for the homepage like we had on the old homepage. the gascap link used to always point right to the current gascap. now it just points to the gascap forum.

WebGuy

just like before by using the vbcodes. you might want to go into your usercp and turn on the advanced editor. go to edit options and scroll to the last option.

Tech section only lists C1 C2 C3, the rest are cut off.

Avatars seemed to work for a little while, I guess you're still working on it.

Can't see attachments in preview mode, is that normal?

Saved PM's only list subjects, no bodies visible.

Will we be able to edit our screen colors in the future?

Moderator site did let me in but nothing to do.

I'm glad to see we finally have a staff forum.

I'll keep listing things as I find them.

Copy this image to your hard disk (remember where it is) Then use it when changing your Avatar. You will click browse when changing your avatar, that's when you look for this file...... ccdvlogo.gif

Jeff I cannot find a way to have the calendar NOT display birthdays. When you go into the monthly mode the month is taken up by birthday announcements which is very confusing and makes it difficult to find events. Is there an option I just can't find to turn off the Birthdays?

Yo-EL

if you don't see the formating buttons around the message box, go into your profile and turn them on. go here

http://www.ccdv.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions

scroll to the bottom to the "Message Editor Interface" setting and choose the "advanced editor" or standard editor". after that you'll have clickable buttons that insert the VBCodes

Bill Burkholder, theres a link to the homepage on the top left of everypage. here it is.
http://www.ccdv.com/forums/homepage.php

92RAGTOP, I'll add a way to remove the birthdays. let me look into it.

Tony, enter the forums using http://www.ccdv.com/forums/index.php? (http://www.ccdv.com/forums/index.php)?

Ever since I changed the page it has logged me in automatically.

If you want to enter via the home page use http://www.ccdv.com/forums/homepage.php? (http://www.ccdv.com/forums/homepage.php)?

I have a problem with my signature. I entered 2 images in the sig. and when I initially check my posts both images are there. Then at some point one of the images get deleted from view. When I check my signature editor all the text is there but one image will not show up on the preview. In order to get both images to appear again I have to re-enter the images. This has hapened 3 times.

What am I doing wrong?

The options/features I used when creating events in the calendar such as hyperlink, font size color etc... are gone. Can we get that back?

Also the old website home page had a summary of events displayed at the top left can we get that back?

I understand there are many more issues that you are working through overall the new site is great. Fantastic job Thanks.

Bill, it sounds like you're stuck in a loop to the Moderators Control Panel (that's blue for me too). Check the url again or logon with another system. You're probably having an issue as Administrator that nobody else sees.

Cannot send a private message:
Get error that says:

Sounds like the problem is obviously at your home computer, not this site....

Must be something with settings on your IE at home. How about checking and comparing your work PC to your home PC.

Up top there in IE, click Tools, then Internet Options.
Go through all that crap at work, then compare to what you have at home.

Especially the last tab to the right Advanced

are you still having this problem? if so clear your cookies, close your browser, and then come back and login.

check your profiel and make sure you have it set to use cookies and auto login.

don't have any reason for CCDV do be restricted but if you have us set that way, it wont' save the cookie. try making us a trusted site.

this one makes no sense at all. is he using AOL at home and not at work? if so it's an AOL issue and I dont' know much about them.

try this

after you log onto aol, minimize it. then open internet explorer and use that to browse CCDV.com

CAN ONLY USE QUICK REPLY BOX TO POST..
(hey at least its something)

"post a reply" on the lower left STILL gives me the message:
"post too short, must contain at least 10 characters"...

Any way to fix this??

C5pilot
03-30-06, 10:38 PM
El, try going into the UserCP, Edit Options, go to Misc Options all the way at the bottom, and choose a different Message Editor Interface.

If that doesn't work, try using the "Quote" button on the bottom right and see if you can enter a post that way.

YO-EL
03-31-06, 08:02 AM
Those have all been done..

Post a reply on lower left & reply w/ quote on lower right will not work & continue to give me the too few character error message..from my HOME computer..

On a side note, WHY is that error message>("message too short. Must contain at least 10 characters...) even programmed into the site?

There's plenty of times we like to reply with just:
COOL
Sweet
;tu
All less than 10 characters..

Maybe that has to be deleted from the program, then I might be able to reply from home??
From here, I can't post just an avatar, or a short word under 10 characters.
I just tried to reply with GREAT.. Got the error message

A lot of sites have the minimum character post in effect. It's supposed to help cut down on the meaningless posts used by people trying to boost their count scores. However, I don't think it's been a problem here. I'd limit it to 2 characters just to prevent the empty posts, IMO.

El, as for your problem posting from home, I'd think you could temporarily solve it by downloading another browser like Firefox. You should always have more than one browser anyway.

what does THIS mean:
http://www.ccdv.com/forums/images/buttons/collapse_thead.gif

It's appears to be the symbol you click to collapse a list of posts under a common thread (could also be an "up arrow"). A "down arrow" or "+" would expand the view of posts under a common thread. Why do you ask?

How "new" is your computer? Did you buy it today?

El, you can have a new computer right out of the box, fresh install of WindowsXP, with everything working fine. As soon as you visit the same site or load the same software that screwed up your old system, it's corrupted. If this is a new system and you've already got problems viewing our site, it's something you're doing. Think about what you've loaded and where you've visited. And don't forget to download all the Windows updates from M$.
