I have my own rule, after a snow which requires salt I wait for three heavy rainfalls before I take the cars out. The last rain was the third. Took the 03 for a spin dowh to one of those coin operated car washes cleaned the car up drove it home and back into the garage. ( Didn't want to hook up the hose) It is good just to get everything moving and lubricated, good for the shocks, seals etc. Just have to make sure you run the car long enough to disipate all the condensation that is created.
Short trip but it was worth it.

As long as the roads are clean, I take her out! In fact I'm running her today.
On the 28th I'll be running in an autocross event and the last weekend in Feb. I'll be running in the National Corvette Challenge in South Carolina.
So as you can see don't park my vette for the winter.
I also manage to keep her clean.

As long as the roads are clean(salt) and dry, i'll drive.
However, after the newness wears off, I think i'll pull
some of the insurance next December, and put her out
of service for the winter. :o :o

When the road is clear and dry, I drive it. I love taking it down the shore this time of year. The back roads along Ocean Drive b/t Ocean City and Sea Isle are way empty. I get on this one stretch of road between the bay and the ocean about 8AM and I open her up and let it rip. I put that petal to the metal and suck it all in. There is this other spot near the inlet where there is just enough sand on a big open lot. I let the clutch go and turn the wheel hard and she takes off and does 160 spins. God how I love that thrill, between the smoke and that growl from that custom exhaust, Its better than sex, well its dam close. :p
Speed Racer over and out...

I'll be driving my 65 to Corvette Paramedics next week.
I'm having the instrument cluster removed and restored, removing and restoring the original clock and a few other things are being done.

I'm taking mine out today,as long as it's clear & dry I take it out.
Todd- It would take me more than 1 year for the "newness" to wear off with 505 HP

Was out a couple of times today. Now I got to clean it all over again, hook up the battery tender and put the cover back on. Oh well it was worth it. Just ask Jake!

There is always an excuse to take the vette out. As nice as it is you still need to wash them after a ride.(I just got home)

Your probably the smartest guy out there. But I can't stand having a garage queen. I had mine out the past two weekends. I saw a bunch of corvettes out on the road this weekend. I'll have it out tomorrow. Then I'll end up with another 7 hours of cleaning it.

It's no garage quenn. When I drive it I drive it hard. It frequents the Dragstrip for the other 9 months during the year when it does come out.
I just save a few bucks each year by taking the insurance off the car (except for comprehensive coverage - $11/month) for those 3 months in the dead of winter. AND I don't miss driving it at all. No big deal. I guess I am not as Corvette crazy as many other Corvette owners.

It is also quite a thrill when March comes around and I get to drive it again. It's almost like getting a new car again each year..

"I guess I am not as Corvette crazy as many other Corvette owners."

Glenn, After seeing your car look better than showroom new this past racing season, I'd say you are Corvette crazy with the best of them! :D

I had mine in the garage under cover but. It's been out 2 times and that was was trips to the Vette Shop.
I'm taking the day off tomorrow and going for a ride. It's going to be a Spring day 62 degrees.
Blow out the dust and check out the new response differance since I had the vararam system and hypertech program installed.
Maybe at the meeting tonight we can put together a ride tomorrow.
