I am switching to Strange Engineering Pro Drag Brakes in the front to fit the 15" wheels I got. I knew there would be some tweaking but not as much. I did not realize/recall that the spindle had to be taken off and that was not fun. Wore me out. We could not finish them as I was missing a part but we got the mounting brackets on, part of the brake lines and dry fitted one of the wheels.

Thanks to Leo Barnaby at Neverlift for the phone support too.
My wife kept us fed all day so thanks to my sweetie too.

Here is the view of the passenger side without the wheel so you can see the mess we/I made

How much weight comes off the front with the drag brakes?

You should be able to get the wheels up a few more inches now!

Al the rotors 8lbs each lighter than the stockers. The calipers surpised me as big as they are, they were only about 2 lbs lighter then the Strange stuff though I forgot to weigh the old pads so maybe 6-7 lbs total for the bracket/caliper/pads change.

Maybe 15 lbs per side for brakes and another 12 lbs per side for wheel/tire combination so we are looking at say 25 to make it neat and even per side so 50 total for the swap.

El, weight as stated above, is a reason, or more so, weight distribution. Another reason is 15" wheel give me better options for tires. Tires height affect reation time and in heads up racing, each hundredth matters.

Additionally there is the look. I wanted a more agressive and different look for wheels on the car.

Yep Edgar: When you're running those kind of numbers, being able to bring 'er to a stop is definitely a plus!!

Hey Edgar: looks nasty. will you use the same type for the rear? I went down to 15" on mine as well. I think 3 1/2" in the front with the prostar weld wheels. Can't wail for the season to begin. Should have mine fired up this weekend. Keep you posted. ;sc

Vince, same wheel but 16" wheel which does fit so no new brake rotors/calipers needed

Al I went and weighed all again. 18 lbs per side brakes rotor/pads/caliper savings for total 36 lbs plus 12/side wheel/tire combo for 60 lbs off the front end

Sounds like you are good for a full tenth with the weight loss and who knows how much with the redistribution of the front to rear weight ratio. Looking forward to seeing a little more light under those front wheels. Post profile pictures when you get a chance.

Jim, I would hope it looks like it does on the jack stand :)

As for profile, not sure what you mean, I thought profile is from the side like I have above?

Profile is from the side but I was looking for a full view picture with the car sitting on the ground.

Got ya. I will shoot a few pics once I have all four wheels on and take it for a spin to settle the suspension.
