1986 corvette computer reset

My battery was dead for 4 months ,now on restart runs rough can resetting the computer do it possibly, I have only seen C5 reset instructions are they the same for the C4? Help Thanks

I don't believe the C4's have reset instruction. The computer has to relearn idle rpm, etc. It usually take a few start cycles to get everything back to normal. A dealer maybe able to reset everything with their scan tool(Tech 1) but it'll cost you. :D

I had to do a relearn on my 93. Frank Schmidt told me to start it 4 or 5 times, drive it a mile or so, then shut it off restart it and drive it hard for about 10 miles and it should be ok.
