Gentlemen,
I'm not a member but I've been to a few events in the past. I noticed a White C5 with two black hash marks on the driveside fender with hand controls.

I work with a great guy that has lost the control of his legs due to a spinal blood clot. He is working to regain control but in the mean time he is looking into hand controls for his Corvette. His Vette is a '82 Automatic that looks like it just rolled off the factory line. As a sidenote a few years ago he restored a '66 427 4spd car and sold it when he had kids. He has the bug again to build another one when he regains the use of his legs.

Does anyone know the owner of the White C5 with hand controls or if you are the owner of that car could you please contact me, I want to see if I can get my friend at work a contact to put hand controls in the his Vette.

Thanks for your help

George

I remember Mike telling me that GM had the hand controls installed for him.
Mike had his C-5 in the 11s

Mike told me Quality Coach in Montgomeryville installed it (215 643 2211). GM paid for it. I'm sure QC can tell you if manufacturers still offer the deal.

Hello George,
Yes as Joe posted Quailty Coach in Montgomeryville did all my hand controls. Gm has a program that paid for the hand controls up to 1000.00 dollars i believe however it must be on a new car or truck not a used car or truck. Hope that helps if ya need to contact me please do not hesitate to do so i would be happy to help in anyway i can ... Take Care.... Mike

As i've said before i am a salesman at Bergey Chevrolet, Quality Coach is who we use to do our hand controls, it is part of a mobility package which GM will pay for $1000 of........these guys now this and most of the time they can trim the numbers so that it becomes free....however it only applies to new cars if i can be of any help let me know

I can't see why Quality Coach could'nt install hand controls on an 82 Vette.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm going to follow up with Quality Coach, and talk to my friend at work. He doesn't know I looked into this subject but he told be about how his kids were asking when he would be able to give them a ride in his Vette.

He's trying to regain the use of his legs, so I'm not sure if he'll want to hold off for now, but I figured I would do some of the leg work for him.

Everyone have a great weekend.
