My GM warranty is up in Dec 05.. Options to extend it?

Just did one myself. Fitchner chev is by far the best price. The are all over the corvette forum. Check them out. Send them your VIN and mileage and they give you 100 choices of miles/months combos and 3 choices of deductibles. They are supporting vendors on the corvette forum. Dennis is the man. Wow what an April. Just finished up another fantastic GMPP month here at the dealership. It just keeps growing and growing every month due to all of the happy customers purchasing their warranty and then telling their Corvette club members, family members and friends. Remember you don't have to own a Vette to take advantage of this warranty. I have sold warranties to many Saab owners, other GM brand owners and even a Corvette owner who bought a Mercedes for his wife and he just had to have a GMPP for it also. We do really appreciate all of the wonderful posts here on the forum about us, I guess it really pays off to treat your customers with respect and make them a great deal on a great product. Again please find some of the more often asked questions to me and please keep those Emails coming to gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com for all of you needing a quote on a warranty. I will get back to you as soon as humanly possible, some mornings I have over 150 Emails and phone calls to do so please be patient with me. Again thanks to all of our loyal customers and here are some of those questions:

When does a GM Protection Plan begin?
The term and mileage of coverage is calculated from the date of contract purchase and the current odometer mileage on the vehicle. There are two forms of pricing available:New and Used. "New" consists of any vehicle that has been in service up to 12 months and up to 12,000 miles on the odometer. "Used" is any vehicle that has been in service for more than 12 months and up to 12,000 miles on the odometer.

When does a GM Protection Plan end?
Vehicle service contracts purchased on all vehicles end at the time or mileage selected.

All vehicle service contracts and Smart Care vehicle maintenance contracts end at the time or mileage selected (whichever comes first) calculated from the date of contract purchase and odometer mileage at time of contract purchase. For example, a 24,000-mile plan, purchased for a vehicle with 40,000 miles, will end when the odometer reaches 64,000 miles (unless the time period expires first).

Is there a money-back satisfaction guarantee?Yes. You will receive a full refund if the GM Protection Plan is canceled within 60 days and there have been no claims filed. After 60 days, the refund amount is prorated based on time and mileage remaining. (An administrative fee may apply.)

What about companies on the Internet eliminating the middleman dealer to save customers money?
Internet companies may be able to save you a few dollars, but chances are the other companies do not have an 7,000 strong dealer network to service your car virtually anywhere in the United States or Canada.

The GM Protection Plan is endorsed by General Motors and backed by the stability of GMAC Insurance, companies dedicated to your satisfaction and repeat business. Have the other companies been in business more than 75 years, carrying an "A" Excellent from A.M. Best?

How do I sign up for a GM Protection Plan?
Your GM dealer will prepare all necessary paperwork for you.

Will I receive a GM Protection Plan contract upon receipt of purchase?
You will receive a copy of the completed, signed contract registration to use as a temporary agreement. A personalized agreement and identification card will be mailed to you.

What if I sell my vehicle before the GM Protection Plan expires?
Your contract can be transferred to the new owner upon sale of the vehicle or the remainder of the contract can be canceled. (An administrative fee may apply.)

Can I renew or extend a GM Protection Plan?
In most cases, yes. Coverage can be renewed anytime during the manufacturer's warranty. After the manufacturer's warranty has expired, coverage can be renewed if the existing GMPP/MRP contract has at least three months and 3,000 miles of coverage term remaining.

That is encouraging.. I was told earlier, that if the car was out of the 3 yr base factory warranty, an inspection for pre-existing problems would need to be conducted prior to any extended warranty...Since I'm up in Dec... this should be no problem to renew.. Ellis, I bought a 6 yr 100,000 mile, $0 deductible, from WarrantyDirect.com. It cost me about $1700 three years ago. I heard they are good to deal with but I don't have first hand
knowledge since I have not had to use it so far, thank god. :D They are backed by a major insurance company. Go on line, they will give you a quote.
