No one was badly hurt, but my Vette was Tee-bonned this afternoon. Does anyone know a body shop that has a lot of experience of fixing C5's????
CCDV member Dennis Winokour owns ALLAN's Collision in NE Phila..
Talk to him or Larry Casey 215-677-7773
another alternative is Bill McElroy's in Bensalem PA 215-639-0806

Sorry to hear about your Vette but glad that everyone was OK.
As Ellis said, probably two of the best in the area. Bryner Chev. is another possibility on fixing a C5.

Norm sorry to hear about the accident. Glad that everyone is OK.
I have first hand experience with Dennis and Larry at Alan's Collision with my C5 (hit a deer) and with 2 other cars. The work has always been top notch! I highly recommend them.
Norm,I'm with Al.My ' 99 was rear ended in my driveway by my neighbor.Dennis et al did a great job in record time. For the exact same job( I compared part by part on the estimates),they were approx. half the price of Bryner.
If you are interested in an opinion on Bryner's work, contact Bobby
Goodwin in our club.He had a $13k+ repair to the front end of his new C6.
Norm ... sorry to hear about the accident. So glad everyone will be okay. Awesome car .. good luck.

I would like to thank everyone for their advice. I stopped in at B&S Auto Body this morning. I knew the owner since high school and knew he would answer my questions straight. He said they have worked on Vettes in the past and wouldn't do me wrong. I feel pretty conficent they are going to fix it right, so I took it there.
When I took it there, they said it looked worse than it was. They are going to replace all of the parts with new GM parts and I should have it back in time for the CCDV Car Show.
Looking back I feel that instead of being as pissed as I was that I should be feeling very lucky that my wife was not with me as I am sure she would have a broken hips and sholders if she was.
I am over it...it is just a car.

Glad you weren't hurt..
Looks real nasty..
Norm:
Its good that you "know" someone in the auto body business, and that he will take good care of you.. But putting your personal friendship aside, had this shop done alot of vettes? I don't mean some, I mean ALOT?
If not, go to ALLAN'S.......
They do TONS of vettes over the years....
To me, if it was MY car in this situation, a shop's experience with CORVETTES is most important.
I have NEVER heard of B & S....
Anyway, in the Phila area "Corvette world", ALLAN'S & BILL McELROY'S stand at the TOP... And I mean the VERY TOP>>!
Good luck!
You have to use who you feel comfortable repairing your car, I see many Vette's that have been repaired from shops I never heard of before, many paint jobs were as good as I have ever seen. Norm are you talking about the B&S in Fleetwood? I have heard good things about them and their work from other vette owners. :)
Hey, Carl is right..
I don't want to come off like Allans or McElroy's are the ONLY choices... Sorry if it reads like that...
I DO agree with everything Carl says.
So hopefully everything will work out!
Again glad you weren't hurt!
THATS, the most important thing!
Take care,
Ellis

I am getting my Vette back from the body shop this Friday. The only thing left is the four wheel alignment. The body shop thinks it may not be necessary but the insurance company is paying for the alignment so I will wait another day...but I can't tell you how much I am ready for this weekend...
It took time to get if fixed, but they did a damn good job. I spent a lot of time looking at it this afternoon and it looks like or better than new. The insurance company authorized all new GM parts and the paint matches perfectly. This was one heck of a way to get the stone chips behind the wheels removed and I hope I never go thru this again, but I can't give the body shop enough credit for doing it right.
They got a black z06 in this week that hydroed, spun and was hit by another car. Mine looked worse, but they say the damage to that one is a lot more severe.
In any event, I can't wait till Friday...I feel like a kid who snooped in his parents closet before Christmas eve.
