Just saw this... Now for 1999-2000.

Erratic Fuel Gauge Reading (Reprogram the PCM) #02-06-04-010A - (06/27/2003)
Erratic Fuel Gauge Reading (Reprogram the PCM)
1999-2002 Chevrolet Corvette

This bulletin is being revised to add models and update the Correction and Warranty Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-06-04-010 (Section 06- Engine).

Condition
Some owners may comment about the fuel gauge intermittently indicating an empty reading and then return to the correct fuel level indication.

Cause
This condition may result when fuel blends containing aggressive sulphur compounds react with the fuel sender assembly, which may result in voltage spikes being induced on the fuel level signal to the PCM. Use of another fuel blend may reverse this reaction and return the system to normal operation.

Correction
Reprogram the PCM with the new service calibration which is available in the June 2003, TechlineŽ TIS release sent to the dealers on 6/28/03. Use the TIS Version 7 or later data update.

$45,000.00 and you can't pick and choose which fuel you run, or top off your tank  . That Sucks :(
I'm surprised you C-5 guys aren't writing the general very nasty letters.

Come on Rick....you mean to tell me you don't remember your "Rochester Quadrajunk "not gumming all up using Atlantic Super slush?!? ;tt Or the jets pitting all to crap in your "Carter Bongo Carb"?!? ;tt And the "fuelies", well, they were nightmares! ;yn And you never went and had to use STP to clean out the fuel lines because you bought a tank of Citgo?? Not to mention the plugs getting all crudded.... because of, yep, the gas!

There is, and will be, and there most defineatly were problems with every car ever made..:D The oldies weren't always goldies! ;jj;jj

Right on Mike!!!! We all have our little horror stories. Bottom line, I would rather have the gas gauge go to zero when I know I have a 1/4 tank than the car not start.

My Memoriy must have been clouded.
Yeah Mike, I remember those days. And I still consider them fond memories.
Like when a Bunch of us guys would spend all friday night tearing my vette down and getting ready for a Sat. night race with some Mopar guys from NJ.
The Oldies had their problems, but they could be easilly figured out and cured.
We also used to burn the midnight candles in Cliff Brays fathers shop working on our Vettes. Cliffs dad was a GREAT guy.
Ask Cliff about his mishap on the Levittown parkway next time you see him. Sreet Racing his 67 convt. hammered 3rd gear, got sideways and T-Boned a Light pole.
AH! The memories :)

Hey Rick, the older cars may have been simpler, but you'll wish you had a C6 when they come out with heated seats and electronic door opener touch pads. The C5 has been bad enough between the column lock and the tire pressure sensor problems. Does your '65 tell you the pressure in each tire? NO you have to get out and READ IT!! It is getting ridiculous, isn't it... ...
