Ellis,
Thanks for the info, I went right to the Ronal websight, lots of pics of finishes, painted centers etc. What do you think of the centers painted to match car color? If I read the pics correctly if you get the painted centers, only the outer rimm is polished chrome, the inner part is duller, lacquered probably. I just like the entire wheel chrome, there is enough yellow on my car. Did you notice any difference in the ride when you changed rimms, I am sure the tires made a difference? I really like those rimms! I may check out what is available at Carisle, then do something over the winter. How much of a problem is it to clean brake dust off all those little bolts around the outside of the rimms? I still love the look, but when taking the car to a show brake dust will accumulate and need to be cleaned off at the show.

I have had chrome rims, HRE's for 4 years now.

Just wipe them off with a damp cloth AFTER they have cooled down.

Or use car wash & rinse, or a spray detailer.

The KEY to keep chrome rims clean & unscratched is 3 things:

#1:
ALWAYS use a 100% terry cloth towel

#2:
ALWAYS mist, or spray, or use a wet & soapy wash mit, BEFORE wiping!

Using an ABSORBER, or damp cloth directly on the rim to wipe off brake dust WILL scratch! You must lubricate the rim FIRST!

#3:
Rim MUST be COOL. Do NOT wipe off chrome rims immediately AFTER driving. Let them cool OVERNIGHT or for at least a couple of hrs!!!

Rim MUST be COOL to the touch!

If you spray ANYTHING on a warm/hot rim, it can stain or etch it!
(PERMANENTLY!)
