We're upgrading to VB3

Well the time has finally come to upgrade CCDV.com to VB3. There will be a little down time and when we come back, we might be missing some features for a short time. On the flip side, it should be the end of our technical difficulties and the new forum code has lots of new toys which I'm sure you'll all like.

When we upgrade all attachments and avatars will be saved but profile pictures and signature images which you've uploaded to the site will be lost. Be sure to save them to your hard drive so you can re-upload them after the upgrade.

I'll be re-writing many sections of the site to fit with the new VB3 code, so now is the time to make recommendations. Anything that you think would make the site more user friendly or more useful to the club would be appreciated.

I've been requesting this for years now... I'd like to see a forum created strictly for club members where we can discuss club issues etc without disturbing the general public, or posting otherwise private information. You can place the gascap section inside the Members Only forum too.

I'm going to need graphics and a color scheme. I'm assuming I'll build something off of the c6. all photos or links to sites with photos would be appreciated.

matter of fact who has one? can I come over and take pictures? I don't know what they'll be used for yet, but somehow I'd like to give the forum more of a corvette feel. maybe just new table headers and footers, maybe a new logo, new buttons, or something. I'd like to taker photos of the entire car inside and out. under the hood. every graphic/emblem, the leather seats, the carpet, any kind of stitching, etc. anything I can use as background images and base our color scheme on.

if I wait till the cavalcade I could take a ton of pics, but I don't think we can wait that long.

I made it real quick with a photo I took this morning. your browser may resize it so make sure you blow it up to full size. in iternet explored there a button that appears in the lower right hand corner that will make it full size. it looks wierd when you see it small, but you'll never really see it that way. you'll always only see the top or the bottom. never both at the same time

anyway, like I said above I'd like to corvette up the forum. what do you all think of a border like this? I wanted to use the C6, but this is what was at the shop today. besides, the read works a little better on the C5 for my purposes

Jeff - A great start and giving us samples is the right idea. Could we see the border in different colors.

no, I don't have a different color corvette here and it's not really neccessary. I just wanted to know if you liked the looks of having a corvette picture wrapped around the forum as a border. I can't just change the color, I'd have to re-draw the photo from scratch.

ok, it's been a month. I think everyone knows by now that we are upgrading. everyone should have had anough time to backup their avatars, sig pics, and profile pics. it's time to move forward
