That is just too cool!!! I'm impressed. Kudo's to the people taping and hosting all the videos, it's very generous indeed! Bravo!
Aaron (white c3) and his fiance shoot and edit the video.
They load them to my site, challengevideos.com, which I pay for, and then I move them to the proper event folder and add them to the page.
I just had to upgrade the account becasue he gives me so much and I don't want to discourage him.
He is trying to convince me to put up a paypal donation button but I feel weird about asking for money.

With your contacts you should try to get a web hosting company to sponsor the Challenge by donating web space. Or how about asking Raceway Park to sponsor the site and they could also sell their pictures online too. I rarely ever go into the store to look over all the photos but I'd browse them online afterwards. Nothing wrong with putting ads on your page either if you don't like asking for donations.
I have spoken with two different "free hosting" potentials and have not been able to strike a deal.
At one point we had a website sponsor that paid the annual fee, but that fell through.
I cannot ask RP for money for the site because then they might inhibit my creative freedom, which is why I list myself and the track accepts me as a sponsor, "cause I pay the bill"
I have spoken to Steve Bell (photo shop guy) about hosting pics for sale on our site or a site of his own and he really does not want to. Major reason is this is part time work for him and he doesn't think he can handle the increased business (wish I had it so good).
As for putting ads on the pages, I really rather stay away from that. I put the site up as a information source for challenge drivers and don't want to bog it down with ads. I am annoyed by ads and don't want to subject our visitors with them either.
Joe these are all good ideas but I have traveled those paths.
I am considering taking on a site for a business where I can charge them for it and then use those funds to break even on the 3 sites I maintain for free for Corvette Challenges (NJ and FL) but am concerned I may not have the time.
Doing the challenge site for the third year now, I have gotten more efficient in that I can turn around the night's article in about 3 1/2 hours vs the 6-8 hours it took when I started (and I even put out more info per article now too). Pictures and videos are very time consuming and I would like to get a better method of putting them up (i.e. purchase software) but right now it is mostly manual.
PS, I did get in a half hour last night to update the points on the site so you can go take a look now at how big a lead CCDV has in the club points and how Vince has tied you for second in rookie points.
As always, I welcome site suggestions.
Edgar,
Contact my son, who is interested in sponsoring you by providing free web hosting, in exchange for an acknowledgement and link to him, to help promote his business. (no flashy ads).
You can reach him through my web site: http://halya.ukes.net
Thanks. I sent him an email.
