I had my first Bryner experience today. Since new my C6 has had a small leak from the 6spd trans. Had it to Kennedy once, they said they found and fixed the leak, HA HA. Still leaked from the moment I got it back.
Took it to Bryner today, They showed me what Kennedy did, tried to caulk the seam between the trans and rear. A real Mickey Mouse job.
Bryner removed the trans, resealed everthing and buttoned it all up, better than new. They even cleaned off eveything underneath the car. Not a drop of dirt or greasy fingerprint in sight. They even marked the Corsa pipes before dis-assembly so that everything is back exactly as before.
This has to be the best service experience I've ever had at any dealer.
Many thanks to Steve and Steve.
Best regards,
Mark
Mark,
I was at Bryner getting my car & watched Steve work on your car.
I wish I could have video taped him as he described what was needed, what had been done poorly at Kennedy,& what he needed to do.He exudes such knowledge & confidence about our
favorite car that I can't imagine owning a Vette if he were not around to work on it!
As I have posted previously, when he was out for several months with a serious knee injury,we collectively held our breath that our cars wouldn't need service.
Who are these guys named "Steve & Steve" you speak about???

No suprise at all...... what you say about BOTH dealers you've been too.
I am glad you learned this lesson with no harm.
Now had you read and trusted us guys here, the Kennedy debacle would have never happened.

One last thing, why in hell were you ever at Kennedy with that gorgeous car?

By the way Mark
You really SHOULD let GM and Kennedy Chevrolet know what you think about the service performed at the Kennedy dealership to your $50,000+ car...............
And finish with GM by telling them about Steve

I admit I'm an idiot. I took it to Kennedy since I've know the GM there for years and figured an oil change and a minor leak were not difficult issues for them.
At least they managed to change the oil without incident. I will take your suiggestion and let GM know of the problem and Bryner's superior servcie.
Now if Chevrolet would only build something I like in an everyday vehicle I could do all my car shopping and service there.
Best regards,

I to had to learn the hard way. I thought any dealer could do an oil change...boy was I wrong. The guy accross the street from me is a manager at a local Chevy dealership and I thought I'd be ok there. If your ever at a meeting ask me about my oil change. Now it's Bryner only.. Not only is Steve a great tech , he's a great guy, and funny.
I had the A&A Rocker Rail protectors. Somehow, the 16 year old lot guy @ Kennedy didn't know that my car was on the lift a little bit and ripped one off the bottom and bent the hell out of it. You would really have had to try and do this.
Needless to say, I have only been back to show them the damage, and that was my last visit many years ago.

I know how you feel but there are many dealers with service departments that stink. I had a Prelude at Susman Honda many years ago for a clutch replacement. All seemed fine as I drove home. Later that night I was driving home on the turnpike and the shifter seemed loose then promptly fell out of the car. Seems they forgot some of the nuts holding everything together.
It's a shame but good servic eis a rare thing.

I was scheduled for some work with Steve Spencer on Good Friday (last Friday). Well I guess alot of people take that day off and all decided to be there that day just like myself.
I was scheduled for 8am, got there at 7:30 to hopefully beat any rush. Well I was wrong. I was actually in line on York Rd just to get in the driveway leading to the two big service doors. Fish saw me out there, had a guy 3 cars in front of me hold tight while the cars ahead of him pulled forward and took my Corvette in the out door, wrote it up and right over to Spencers work area. :D
Not only is Bryner good, but they really take care of Corvette people and especially CCDV people.
I write to GM all the time and tell them how Bryner is top notch and that other GM dealers should come watch & learn

Now if GM would only listen and bring their dealers up to a higher standard.
Mark, the lack of experienced service techs is a real problem. The situation vis a vis Vettes is even more dismal.Because of GM's Catch 22 allotment policy, most Chev service depts only see a few Vettes a year.Under these conditions,it's easy to see why so many dealers have a bad rep.We are lucky in this area that in addition to Bryner, there are a number of outstanding & trust worthy shops with mucho Vette experience.
The dealer service departments have always been a problem because anyone really good goes and starts their own shop, I think you will see dealers getting better people in the years to come, depending on if the dealership wants to pay, due to the fact that many small auto repair shops are going out of business because cars are built better, and the equipment needed to repair the new cars is very costly and many small shops just can not spend that kind of money. :)

Talking to other customers in Bryner's service area waiting room it appears that Bryner excels in servcie overall, not just with Vettes. Serveral people told me horror stories from other dealers regarding servcie on their Impalas, etc.
Everyone spoke about how Bryner is the only dealer they let servcie their cars.
Good service is good service regardless of the car. Changing the trans out on a Cavalier and rebuilding it takes talent too.
Bryner cares enough to hire, train and retain good people.
It's a shame most dealers don't

Glad everything turned out for your baby. I kinda wish I bought
my vette there. I didn't know how awesome those people are.
Usually service departments are more worried of how they can get ya for something. Different world in down town Jenkintown! :p

You did not have to buy your car there to have it serviced there, warranty or not.
I hope I can buy my new Z06 from Bryner, only because they are the closest. ;)
I would hurry up & place my order now with Bryner,Carl.I heard they are only getting a few & they may have already been spoken for.

I am on Kerbeck's list, I just rather buy from Bryner if possible, they were very unwilling to deal on my other C5's

Who was unwilling to deal on your C5's?????
Kerbeck, Kennedy (he is my neighbor) and Scheithauer, and Scheithauer gave me the best deal on my second 2000 and both Z06's, and I could not get Bryner to match the prices, I sure I have the salesman's card somewhere, I keep trying. :)

Kennedy don't know sh!t about Corvettes OR Customer Service.
They suck at what they are trying to be (a good car dealership).

Neither do most of the dealership's out there, I am lucky that my last 7 Corvette's NEVER had to go back to the dealership for anything. :)

I was taking it easy there, If I really did say ALL that I feel about Kennedy I would probaby get a visit from the CCDV Police patrol for my bad behavior. :D
Thomas Chevrolet is another one of my favorites, even worse than Kennedy.
hint hint :D

It,s nice to know that there is always someone that gives honest opinions, and doesn't pull any punches!

There were several posts a long time ago giving Bryner an A+ for service. In case you didn't see it, I mentioned a front end problem that at least 2 Vette specialty shops couldn't fix. I took it to Steve & needless to say, it was repaired & never occurred again! So it's not just newer Vettes that he handles! He's a super great mechanic!

I'M LOOKING FOR SOME HELP AND SUGGESTIONS. RECENTLY HAD TO HAVE MY GLASS TOP ROOF REPLACED DUE TO STRESS CRACKS (UNDER WARRANTY). STEVE SPENCER DID THE WORK AND AS USUAL VERY CLEAN. HOWEVER, THE ROOF LEAKED AND BRYNER HAD THEIR "LEAK SPECIALIST" WORK ON IT (DIFFERENT DAY) AND PROMISED HE'D BE JUST AS CAREFUL. UNFORTUNATELY, THE GENIUS PUT SOMETHING ON THE TRUNK DECK AND SCRATCHED UP THE PAINT. ALSO SCRATCHED UP THE NEW GLASS TOP AND TO TOP IT OFF, IT STILL LEAKS  . THEY WANT ME TO BRING IT BACK AGAIN :( AND LET STEVE MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS. HE WILL BE THE ONLY ONE TO EVER TOUCH MY CAR AGAIN! I NOW HAVE 8 HOURS OF MY TIME INTO THIS ROOF AND HAD TO HAVE THE TRUNK DECK NOT ONLY BUFFED BUT SANDED. ALSO HAVE SCRATCHES ON THE NEW ROOF FROM THE "LEAK SPECIALIST"AND IT IS STILL LEAKING. OF COURSE GM IS NO HELP!!!!
The only time I've ever been dissatisfied with service there was
when I brought my Z in for a water leak.Their "leak specialist"
was not a staff member, but a roving GM tech who came there on
special days. After several attempts at having him fix it,I gave up.
I realize such leaks can be a bi*ch to find;however, on corvetteforum.com,such complaints were common for Z06s.As usual,GM didn't put forth much effort to remedy the problem(the
TSB was useless).

THE "LEAK SPECIALIST" WAS AN OUTSIDE PERSON. WHAT AGGRAVATES ME IS THAT HE DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM, DAMAGED THE PAINT AND ALSO SCRATCHED UP THE NEW ROOF. THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW IS ALSO HITTING THE METAL CLIP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROOF TOO, WHICH NEVER HAPPENED ON THE ORIGINAL ROOF OR WHEN STEVE SPENCER PUT THE NEW ONE ON. I JUST FEEL GM OR BRYNER SHOULD BE PUTTING ON A FACTORY INSTALLED ROOF WHICH IS WHAT I PAID FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. I HAVE DONE EVERYTING THEY HAVE ASKED, SPENT 8 + HOURS OF MY OWN TIME AND HAD TO HAVE THE SCRATCHES IN THE PAINT FIXED

I know this comment is late for the topic, but I have known Steve Fisher for a few years now and he takes all my cars to Bryners for service... I have NEVER been dissappointed. Nice to have Steve as a neighbor a few houses down... keeps me from having to go to the dealer...he just takes my cars to work for the day and brings them home inspected / repaired / whatever.
Hes taking my 74 in on tuesday to have it inspected and a "going over" by thier "corvette guy", whom I am guessing is the other Steve you guys speak of..... so I have no worries....

It's Steve Spencer. He gave my 79 the once over this week and we found a bunch of stuff that needs fixing. Steve S. is great and he knows his stuff. If you are there when he goes over the car he'll walk you through it too.

I was there yesterday.;yn Good to see Steve Fisher back in action. ;bt However, Bryner's is bending over backwards to give us, their CCDV customers ,competetive pricing on cars & parts. They already have the best service available. As for leaks, they're are tricky SOB's and always are hard to fix. Go back and ask Spence to help you. He will. They're all a bunch of "up-front" guys.
