Anybody know how to reach Marian, our club store chairperson? I'd like to order some CCDV items but have been unable to reach her despite leaving several messages.
Thanks,
Mark

Maybe we should consider putting the apparel online. And take orders online to be shipped out.

we are in the process of doing that. Don has started to take pictures of some our items and has created a prototype of what the web page will look like. It looks good so far and within the next month should have it in place.

Whatever happened to this idea? I thought someone said that Don was taking pictures of the apparel back in 2005 and that it would be online shortly,. What happend to that great Idea? You've got 6 new members last month that are willing to give up their hard earned dollars to give a little more profit to the CCDV club. That would make it easier to do so. Where oh where is Laura when you need her comments??

I agree, the online store is way past due. If it's the pictures holding it up, I'm sure we have members who would be happy to help photograph items during a general membership meeting in the back of the room without disturbing anyone.

We had a club store web page. I was maintaining it, set it up, took the photos, edited the prices, sizes etc.... I was also able to get free web-space at Geo-Cities, unfortunately they went belly up and took everything including all my hard work with them.
My original thought was to set up a shopping cart with photos where you could click on size, color, Qty etc... and the person handling the store would get the info sent to them and then open a dialog with that club member via email.
That never happened, obviously. It ultimately depends on having somebody step up that has the time, know how and energy to do this. Same with setting up the web site and maintaining it, it's a JOB. Somebody would need to dedicate the time. Be careful not to say "It does not seem too complicated or time consuming" because you may just have volunteered to be that somebody. ;bl
I've been saying for years we should scour the area looking for a person with the last name of "Somebody". Pay him to join the club, this way when we need somebody to do something we know just where to turn.

A close friend of mine has a web based business now and I am sure he would be willing to help me out with it. He takes Mastercard and Visa payments on line. I can find out the particulars if someone wants to give me a green light. It would be a lot more convenient and easier to deal with than the way we are doing it today! Dr_Pewter72 was missing my point. Glad to see there are others that understand where I was coming from by posting the post from 2005.

Sorry I bothered to post, was just tryin' to help out. Figured since you were new you never saw the online store (which was really just a place to view the items)

Nice of you to help out Dr_Pewter72. I didn't mean it in a negative way. Just trying to help the club out with some more dynamic ways to order from the store. With Easter weekend, I wouldn't want to call anyone anyway. This just delays it even more. If there was an online store, I would have ordered it already. By all means....keep up the postings. It does help us rookie's out.

Whoa, watch it. I just said we could find members who know how to use a camera during a meeting. If I were you, I'd keep searching for Mr Somebody because as far as I'm concerned, you are he, ever since you accepted my job. Can always tell the suckers. They're usually wearing colorful Hawaiian shirts and cracking jokes. ;bl

I've solved that problem Joe, I'm paying someone to follow me at CCDV functions to kick me in the N&TS anytime I make a move to volunteer for anything.;bl As it turns out that's much less painful.

Hi Don...Any idea as to why they just didn't add a tab on this site and call it "CCDV STORE"? Perhaps post pictures under the tab and have people check off what they are interested in and have the system automatically email the CCDV Store person in charge? The VBulletin software that this site is running is capable of doing this. You could limit the store to members only that way. Any thoughts?
