Bewitched - 1967-1972
-- Larry Tate had a '67 Corvette and later a '68. Occasionally you saw a new Vette rolling in the background streets. Sponsored by Chevy. This is on TV Land on Nick.

Retired? That's what my wife says!
I have NEVER watched Bewitched. I'm good with the sharks and very good at research on the internet. And I have to admit, I've picked up a ton of info I would never have gotten. Thanks Don T!

Hey Don, I disagree.
All E code engines were manual trans cars
and All F Codes were automatics.
All small blocks were built at Flint so what is the question??
Besides, You and I both know I answered this question at the meeting last night with Flint if that is what you wanted.

What was the last year Corvette to use a Distributor with mechanical tach drive and why did they eliminate same?

1974 was the last year
and
The 1975 Corvette tachometer is electronically driven, a change mandated by the HEI system's new type of distributor.

Bob I believe the question is what does the prefix F at the beginning of the plant code stand for. I am assuming the transmission designation is not what the assembly plant code BEGAN with. Anyone correct if I'm wrong.
Bob when we were sitting at the VFW pouring Coors lights down our neck John was at his PC answering the question.

Not So Fast.
I am lead to believe that all ZR1's had 13" rotors. So the 1990 ZR1 Corvette (with it's own serial number sequence) would be the first Corvette to have these as Standard equipment. However their is some confusion (maybe on my part) as 1991 Z07's had them too and I am unclear as to FX3's in 1989.
So, I guess it depends on what is "Standard equipment".

#122 is indeed 1989. 1573 were built with this option (FX3) at a cost of $1695.00
There are other later versions -such as
Selective real time dampening -F45
F-55, etc.
But 1989 was THE FIRST YEAR.

1988 Corvette celebrated his 35th anniversary. It produced a all white Corvette with better handling. And it made great strides with the Performance Handling Package along with new 17 inch wheels and tires. This pack was not standard; the normal model had 16" wheels. The Selective Ride Control adjustable suspension system was also introduced; allowing drivers to choose between three different operating modes: "Touring," "Sport" and "Performance." A new 6 speed manual transmission was also offered, giving drivers added ability to maximize the Corvette power range.
