Corsa exhaust

I am looking to buy a 03 vert. The current owner installed a Corsa exhaust last month. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has installed a Corsa system. I have heard that it sounds like a motorboat at idle and it pops and backfires on deceleration.

The popping on deceleration can be smoothed out a little with an "X" pipe...

If you are interested in going back to the stock exhaust system I have a set of stock mufflers from my 1999 that I will sell cheap.

That would be correct.

The motorboat gurgle at idle & popping on deceleration can be eliminated with an "X" pipe...

I have that setup on my car.

I had them (Corsa's) first WITHOUT the X-pipe and the sound was ugly. THEN I added the X-pipe and all the gurgle and 95% of the decel pop was gone.

Thanks Al,but if I do this deal the stock exhaust will go with the car. El,Glenn, thanks for your imput. I guess I will just have to put the X pipe in. Due to a crazy schedule and the fact that I sold the MY 02 vert in July, I never got around to meeting any of you guys yet. I will definitely try to rectify that in the new year.

You also need to program the PCM to slightly advance the spark on decel. Brian at JD's Automotive in Huntingdon Valley got rid of 98% of mine. Think that I want some of it back though...that mean sound. :D

I just bought an '03 with the Corsa Exhaust. I love the sound, and I get a popping on acceleration. Is that to be expected?

I have the Corsa Pace Car exhaust along with TPIS headers and Random Tech Cats....It snorts, backfires and farts when I leave off the gas...when I get on it... the people left behind know something happened.

Not to sound smart, but if you want something that don't do that...stick two of those Honda fart cans on it or keep it stock.

An X pipe will help a little, but I like the poping...Norm we made some noise on the O.C. Boardwalk last summer, fun!!!!!! That's me in the white car and Norm is behing me in the blue car.

As said adding an "X" pipe will take care of 90% of your popping noise. :)
