Don, I believe that's the 1983 Corvette Sedan.
If you look at the prodution numbers for 1983, they reflect the cars popularity.

I think it is either a seventy nine or eighty. They built about 15 of them. I think I read somewhere that there is only one left. They were pieced together from two Vettes. Price I believe was around 30K. Some Hollywood types had a couple of them.

Are you saying that this is a actual production car and not a after market modified?

From what I remember of the article which was in either Corvette Fever or Vette Magazine GM sent the cars to a custom shop to have the mods done. I'll have to do some research to find out more.
Found it! There was only five built. And Don that is not a picture of one of the 5. Notice in the picture of the red Vette it has door handles. The originals didn't!

You are just a wealth of information! A friend of our's used one as a limo for his son's wedding. They are pretty sharp up close but they are also strange! The driver told me it handled fairly well but the extra weight detracted from the performance.
