We lost the site. Luckily I did a complete backup a week ago. That means we've lost very little. When you get into the forum, it will be like you went back in time to Oct 27th. I know it's disappointing to lose posts, but all things considered we're very lucky.
I'll re-upload the Nov GasCap as soon as I get it. it's still in the office. I'll swing by there today.[hr]
Previously we owned a small piece of a server at ThePlanet.com and it worked out very well for us until now. They don't rent out small pieces though. Companies rent whole servers from ThePlanet and then resell parts of them to smaller sites like us. The company who was renting us our piece of the server ran into problems and our server is gone now. I have no control over it and I'm not very happy about it. To prevent something like this from happening again I've signed up directly with the ThePlanet. They are a massive company and since I signed up directly with them, there is no middle man. Just me and the ThePlanet. They are one of the largest hosting companies out there selling 150 servers a day and partner with thousands of small hosting companies like the one we were previously with.
The good news is, now I have complete control over everything and can be sure that problems like this don't happen again. The down side is now I have an entire server to configure, run, and maintain. I'm still twekeing the server so let me know if you notive any problems.
Considering I started rebuilding Friday night and were already here at the new box and running Sunday morning, it's not so bad. I saved all the attachments, posts, and accounts.
I'm testing the site out now. I need to be sure that uploads are working for attachments, avatars, and sig images.
Please respond to this thread with any problems
