Free State Corvette Club of MD. held their annual Boardwalk event last weekend. It was another success despite less than perfect weather. Paul & Ginny Wydominc, Nick & Anne Scull and My Wife and myself drove down Friday evening and spent the next day checking things out. While down their we bumped into fellow club members Mike & Nancy Campbell and Bill & Janice Gorczyca. The event attracts 700 plus Corvettes from as far as Georgia. Besides Maryland, Pa was the most represented state. They have a large show & shine follwed by a parade down the Boardwalk, then a banquet that evening. The rain held off and the temp. was comfortatble for the parade. We guessed that the number of Corvettes in the parade was around 500 which surprises me considering they charge $35 p/p to be in the parade. I thought that $70 was a little too steep but 500 others didn't. Anyhow enjoy the pix.

This was pretty cool. The couple in the Vette just got married. The man with the bagpipes was the Bride's Father. He surprised them with a serenade.

A little too much for me, but it's a fantastic paint job.
That,s Jimmy Stafford and wife Heather, he's a friend and colleague.

Thanks for the pics by the way. Very cool!
Is that the Jim Stafford that had his car featured in Corvette Fever a while back? Doesn't it have a P'burgh Penquins theme inside?
Truthfully, its cool, but I liked it better without the flames. However to each his own.

I thought I've seen that car before but couldn't place it. It was at Carlisle and it does have the Pittsburgh Penquins artwork under the hood.

That is the one........... The car was painted with those flames during last winter. He had the car trucked to Huntington Beach CA to have it painted. Jim does alot of work with and for Meguiars. The painting of the C5 was done in association with them as well.
His car was under Meguiars tent at Carlisle as a matter of fact.
His C5 paint sceme matched Meguiars 18 wheeler. :D

Your'e right Rick it is a C2 (I had a brainfart)
The Gran Sport is a pretty interesting story. I was talking to the owner and commented that there must not be more than a handful of these around. He told me there were 5 left. However this one is a reproduction. Someone in California put it together and he bought it for $100,000. It looks great and I don't know if it is an exact repro. although for that much I would hope so. Myself I think I would find another Vette to spend that kind of money on instead of a repro. Although it was nice. ;gs
