Thursday, October 14 th kicks off the beginning of the C3 Extravaganza! Open to all automotive enthusiasts, this exciting event offers guests in attendance a full three-days of non-stop activities that include road tours, seminars, Corvette Assembly Plant and Museum tours, a BBQ dinner at the home of NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode and wife Jan, drag racing, autocross, a people’s choice car show and a banquet and benefit auction.
Co-hosted by the C3 Vette Registry, the event begins with tours of the Corvette Assembly Plant on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. in addition to a “driving” road tour to Diamond Caverns and lunch on the route. A limited number of slots are available and pre-registration is required. A free road tour to view some of the country-side scenery is offered later in the afternoon, and then everyone will gather for a commemorative group photo at 3:30 p.m.
Activities are in full swing on Friday, with drag racing at Beech Bend Raceway! You must register to participate in advance with your event registration. You may also late register at the NCM by Thursday afternoon for the Drag Racing at for a fee of $35.00. Spectators may also be a part of the fun and watch the exciting drag racing competition. A $5.00 spectators fee is payable at Beech Bend Raceway. More tours of the Corvette Assembly Plant, a tour of Holley Performance Products – limited to only 48 people, and additional seminars are scheduled. The C3 Vette Registry will unveil a commemorative brick at 3:30 p.m. and guests who have signed up for the BBQ at the 1869 Homestead will depart for a relaxing evening of good food and company. Be sure to register to be a part of the BBQ. The night ends with more racing excitement at Race World. A group discount will be offered and all fees are payable at Race World.
Saturday morning begins a vigorous day of excitement for everyone registered for autocross at Beech Bend Raceway! A mandatory drivers meeting is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. at Beech Bend and all participants must attend. Autocross fees are payable to the Museum with your preregistration fees. A people’s choice car show presented by the C3 Vette Registry runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A C3 Vette Registry membership meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Chevrolet Theater before participants enjoy another free scenic road tour at 2:30 p.m. A banquet and NCM benefit auction in the Museum’s Skydome caps off the evening and begins with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m.
