Dear Jeff,

How are you this day? I hope well.

You are doing a great job running, updating, fixing issues with the CCDV site.

I wanted to inform you of two issues. Both you may know about, so please forgive me if I am stating something that you already know about.

1. The birthday feature in an user's profile is not working. I brought this up to Bill (President) a few months ago at a CCDV meeting and he was going to contact you about this.

2. When I click on Club Info (along the top middle of the page) I get the follwing message:
Not Found
The requested URL /join.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.31 Server at www.ccdv.com Port 80

Anyway, let me know when the birthday issue is fixed since I am 5 years younger then my real age but I feel like 80 HA!

Take care...John

John, everyones birth date is incorrect in their profile viewed by the public. This is done to protect your personel information. When you go to your profile (user-cp) it is correct.

Ok.

You are correct that when you are editing your profile the correct b-day is listed. When you goto view it defauts to 12-31-69.

How is "public" defined? A member or non-member of CCDV? or both?

I am just wondering if members are allowed to view other members b-day info.

Thank you and take care...John

Thanks Bill for info and that "public" means both members & non-members.

Take care...John

Ok, first thanks for the heads up. I'll update the club info link right now. thats an important one.

As for birthday, when it shows a 1969 birthday that means your birthday wasn't saved correctly. (somehow all zeros in unix time converts to 12-31-69 our time) When we switched from UBB to VB years ago, everyones birthday got messed up. I was under the impression, that once you fixed it it was fixed. I'll look into it and fix it. Honestly, people have contected me to tell me their birthday is wrong, but I always thought it was from this issue with the move, and they had fixed it themselves.

One more thing, the time is off by an hour. I'm having trouble fixing it but I am aware.

NX-01 : this may seem like a dumb question, but have you tried setting your birthday in your profile? My is fine. if you've never entered it, this site assumes you were born on unix time zero. (dec 31 69) I understand this is a bug I should have fixed, but I assumed everyone would just update their profile.

go here
http://www.ccdv.com/forum/usercp.php?s=
scroll down to birthday and enter it
there is a radio button which allows you to hide the year from public eyes if you'd prefer not to share your age.
then hit submit

once you do that, tell me if your birthday is fixed. :)

I often get emails asking me to edit a profile like set the birthday or change an email address. This is something you all can do yourself in your UserCP.

NX-01, did you ever try setting your birthday? I see yours still read dec 31 69. you should be able to go into your profile and enter your birthday. I need to know if you'd tried this & it still reads dec 31 or if you've just never entered it and thats why you have the default birthday.

NX-01, ok I see you set your birthday, do you have your profile set to show your birthday only & not your age?

I did a work around to solve this problem. I'm not sure what it was, but I simply handled the birthdays a different way
