Will GM pay for my bypass in lieu of colum lock recall?

I got my notice today and was wondering if I can claim reimbursement for my column lock bypass instead of having GM do their bypass?

Anybody try this?

I've heard others have been told, "NO". My advice is simply to try it anyway. All they can do is say, "NO" to you too.

OR, you can sell your bypass to someone who is not included in the recall and get the GM fix for free. Good luck.
