Hello.
I’m having my mid live crises and need a corvette. Is there a web site that will tell me what to look for? Like how many miles is to many miles. What years had lemons. What years had what styles. Look for ??? to see if car is beat up? Ect…….
Thanks in advance

If you provide a fax number, I have a 1 page sheet which gives lots of general Corvette things to ask & look for. However, your best bet, if you're not totally familiar with what to specifically look for, is to seek the assistance of someone who is knowledgeable of the year(s) you are considering purchasing. You can get STUCK big time if you're not careful!
Good luck with your search,
Joel

Unfortunately, I don't have access to a fax machine.
Thanks anyway, Joe.

HI!!!
Some answers to your questions.
1 Check your local library for books on buying a corvette.
2 If that isn't your cup of tea try BORDERs or BARNES & NOBLE they have books on the subject.
3 Ask yourself what you want to use the VETTE for SHOW only or SHOW & DRIVE or just DRIVE.
4 Go to a CORVETTE show look at the different body styles
C1 - 53-62
C2- 63-67
C3- 68-82
C4 - 84-96
C5 - 97-04
see what which ones you like.
I hope that helps get you started.
If you want email me with your phone# Iam not a great typist. BYE for now!!!

Here is a nice book to learn more about Corvettes.
The Corvette Black Book
Hard to beat this little reference book for only $11.17

Go to Corvettes at Carlisle it's one of the largest if not the largest Corvette car meet, parts swap in the US. Here is the website click it for more info. http://www.carlisleevents.com/schedule/corvette/index.asp
After a day at Carlisle you should have a good idea as to whats going on.

Definitely BEWARE of what you consider buying at Carlisle (or elsewhere). I'm sure there are plenty of good buys there, but there were also many mid-year's for sale (asking top dollar) & many looked like they needed frames, etc., which would easily add another $5K + to the price!!
However, when you're there, you will pretty much see every year, color, body style Vette ever made.
and Steve, I'll fax the info sheet to you.
Thanks,
Joel

Steve: nice job!
Thankx.
Dear Tim (francot),
How are you? I hope you are well.
Have you been looking at the various corvette's that GM has produced? Do you one that stands out to you (aka one that you like)?
I ask since I am partial to the C4s (1984 thru 1996). Maybe the new C6, I have to see one in person and drive one <deep smile>.
When you know which corvette you want (as in year, etc), let the club know since then we can assist you further.
Also, if you need a ride to go pick up your corvette, I would be more then happy to drive you there to go get you new baby!
Take care...John
P.s. I hope it's not Alaska :D

Hay John there's a better than 50% chance that I'll be buying a 92 within the month in Dallas, TX. That's less than halfway to Alaska. :D
Two Words....
ROAD TRIP !!
You know I have never been to Texas....first time for everything ;sc
