NOT true!!!! I have a 2000 with a little over 12K on the original brakes and it stops straight and NO pulsing at all. Does this car have the original wheels or does it have after market wheels. Some after market wheels have poor run out which can cause the pulsing/ wobble while braking.

Were they the stock rotors or cross-drilled? How many miles on the car?
More people have brake problems due to the poor quality of the rotors on C5's, I get to drive many C5's and most of the C5's I drive with stock rotors have some sort of brake pulsing, this is due to the fact that GM was getting them from South America (not that there is anything wrong with that) but the quality is poor, I would not let that stop me from buying the car, new better quality rotors are not that much money. Some problems are in the tightening of the lug nuts, some are poor quality wheels, some problems are people beating the hell out of their cars, and some are as stupid as washing your car with red hot rotors.

There is a service bulletin on the pulsing problem it has to do with the rotor varying in thickness. Most times the problem can be resolved by having the rotors cut to spec at a reputale shop like Bryner Chevy. If the car has an extended warranty you should be able to get the work done under warranty.
This is not a big deal!

Sounds like BAD rotors to me. Don't let that deter you from purchasing the Vette if everything else about it seems OK.
He may have had them cut at some not so reputable shop with out of date equipment. If he had them cut, what is the thickness of the rotors now?
Work on the price of the car, see if he will at least move enough to cover the cost of new rotors and pads.
Good Luck,

What's the mileage on the car? You don't know how hard the previous owner was on the brakes. There should be no pulsating on the brakes, unless the rotors are warped, which in this case it sounds like they are. Also, you may replace the front rotors and pads, thinking that the rear ones are good, but if they're not, you will experience a pulsating from the rears. Let us know what the mileage is. I've seen them even with low mileage have bad rotors. I just bought a '98 and when I miked the pads they were down to around 7, which to me is time to change pads. Even though the car had low mileage, the rotors were warped. I replaced the front rotors and pads, and still had a slight pulsating. I knew then, that the rear rotors needed replacement also, even though there was good meat on the rear pads. I replaced the rear rotors and pads, and pulsating stopped.
Good to hear from you again,FL.Any chance we'll see you at the
Vette Mag show at Etown on Aug.7?
