I originally posted this in the wrong area, I put it in the general discussion area.

I know this is usually not one of the most popular threads but I need help. My wife has considered getting me cat-back system for my 1993 40th anniv. Ruby Red, LT1. This is to be a fathers day gift. The best explanation I can give as to what I am looking for is something with a 60's throaty sound not excessvely noisy at all. I am considering the Corsa or the Borla. Is anyone familar with the Corsa, their advertisement sounds like what I would want and I did read a thread from someone some time ago that stated the system had a nice growl when you get into it, however, there was no objectional noise at cruise. There ad says they have this patented technology that gives their system this sound. I also do not want that popping sound when you let off the gas. It can be an extremely expensive project experimenting with exhaust systems that is why I am opening this boring thread. Also is there a set of headers that will go with either system that will not break the bank. Will I have to change the chip or can that wait until I make further changes. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you may have.

I have a 90 and needed the exact same thing, but I knew I wasn't going to get it for Fathers Day so I bought it myself. I got a great setup from a performance exhaust shop in Trenton, NJ called Mufflex http://www.mufflex-performance.com/ They installed a stainless steel MAGNAFLOW system and what a difference it made. I was able to feel the difference imediately. They hand fit it all, it took ablout 3 hours but well worth the wait. The guy that owns the place is very knowledgeable and does a lot of racing. I'm very pleased with it. I'll be at Thursday's CCDV meeting if you want to see and hear it. Don Terranova

I got the Corsa's and I am happy with them. There are a lot of opinions on exhausts and some mildly heated debates on other Corvette forums.
What you hear on the sound bites on the Corsa website with the LT1 Camaro is what you will hear with the Vette. As advertised at cruise there is no resonance and it has a pleasant tone.
I travel some mountains on the way to work and I like to run in 3rd and I have yet to hear it pop when holding back downhill.

Hey Don...did you get the pictures?

Yes I did Pete. I'm guessing you didn't get my reply to your email. The Website has been off and on the last couple of weeks. Do you think the musuem would be a good cruise? How long did it take you to go through it? I'm thinking that this would be a good indoor event for late Fall when the temp starts to drop. Maybe we can include a diiner at one of the Amish restaurants I haven't had a good peice of Shoo Fly pie in a long time. Don T

I had the Borla system with the balance tube on the 88 Coupe that Arleen used to have. Along with the TPIS long tube headers and muffler eliminaters it REALLY GROWLED when you hit the throttle. It had a nice throaty tone at idle also.
Alot of performance guys around the area use Mufflex. They are in Mercerville NJ.

Don,
I think I spent about an hour there, but I really could have stayed longer if it weren't for the grandson.
They start you off with a movie in their theater and then you are kind of on your own to roam around. There are three floors, so it takes some time to see it all.
I mentioned this before, but a good food stop on the way or way back would be the Shady Maple Smorgasboard on Rte 23, right outside of Blue Ball. It is a Pa. Dutch place. It's about 20 mins. from the Morgantown exit off the turnpike.

Oh, one thing. If there is a large group coming, the museum would like to be notified in advance.
I think a Fall trip would be best due to all the activity with the park and all during the summer.
